About Travelodge London City
A sizeable modern block of seven floors, Travelodge London City holds 395 rooms and sits among the streets of the City, just along Middlesex Street. It's a practical, no-frills base rather than a characterful old building, built for guests who want a straightforward place to sleep close to the centre.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and the Super Rooms add air conditioning for those who want it. All floors are served by a lift, and there are accessible rooms available. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast service, 24 hour reception and drinks available in the room. An electric vehicle charge point is on site, and pets are welcome. Wi-Fi is provided but has been known to be patchy at times.
Aldgate East station is close by, making onward travel into the rest of London straightforward, and there's a Costa Coffee nearby along with pubs, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Parking isn't on site but chargeable parking can be found ten minutes' walk away at Minories Car Park on Shorter Street. It's a well-placed, functional hotel for anyone wanting value and convenience over frills.

Had a fantastic 2 nights stay here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The lady on reception (Deanne?) was kind enough to upgrade our room and gave us a free drink at the bar to help us celebrate. The room was spotless, the bar area was spacious and modern and every single member of staff was polite and friendly. Great location, we will be back.

I stayed here for a while back in April with friends and the service was good and on point. That and the food service in the morning as well was excellent. The rooms me and my friends shared were great. They had a good amount of storage given the smaller room we had. However, the shower was not it. The bathroom was clean, don't get me wrong, but it was hard to get in and out of the shower because it was elevated, and whenever we'd use it, the curtains would get soaked, along with the floor, forcing us to set down towels only for them to get drenched as well. It got bad up to the point I had to hold the curtain in place to block the water from pitching out. Not only did the curtains get drenched but they got dirty because they are really long as well... So the bathroom functions fine but the shower... I still have mixed feelings. And the shower felt a little grimey as well even on the first night there. I wouldn't recommend this place at all for this fact as it gets frustrating to manage overtime, unless you are possibly staying overnight. Maybe its just the type of room we had, but yeah. The only reason I gave three stars is for the food service and extraordinary staff.

Spent a night here on 3 May 26. Hotel room was comfortable, bathroom was clean. Air con and heater were working fine. I liked the self-service room where guests can help themselves to a hair dryer, iron, coffee, and milk. The welcome from the hotel staff wasn’t as warm as what I experienced at another Travelodge in North London, though it wasn’t a major issue for me, just sharing my experience. Location is fine with 2 tube stations within walking distance. However, as a solo female traveller, the surrounding area felt a little rough, especially at night. Overall it was an ok stay. I got what I paid for.

Fantastic location by Aldgate tube. Got a room for £124 for a Friday night, which I’d consider excellent value for London. Best thing was the aircon in the current heatwave. Room was a perfect cool temp and system not too loud. Check in queue was long but went to self check in and took less than a minute to get my key. Would absolutely stay here again at this price point.
