About ibis London City Shoreditch
ibis London City Shoreditch is a sizeable modern block on Commercial Street, one of 348 rooms built for straightforward, no-fuss stays in east London. The style is functional rather than boutique, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms and accessible rooms available throughout, and drinks available in room for those settling in for the evening. Rooms are kept clean and comfortable, though some are on the smaller side.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar, along with a snack bar and kids' meals for families, plus a breakfast that guests consistently rate for its range of choices. Staff are noted for being friendly and helpful, which counts for a lot in a hotel this size. Laundry service is available, and pets are welcome for those travelling with animals in tow.
The location is the standout feature: a tube station sits right next to the property, making it easy to reach the rest of London without needing a car - useful, since there's no parking on site. Nearby streets offer plenty of pubs, restaurants and other eateries, with entertainment options also close at hand.

Pros: - location - literally next to a tube station and a tesco. Convenient to get downtown (and at the same time at a reasonable distance to Excel convention center if you’re in London for a conference) - rooms are small but comfortable (though very little storage space) - staff is nice and accommodating - bathroom is small but very functional. Plenty of space inside the shower Cons: - WiFi is basically useless inside the room. Good connectivity in lobby/breakfast area, but not in the room. For the first few days I could get internet in the bed (not the desk though), but for the last few days I had to stand next to the room door to get connected and place the laptop on the very edge of the bed, only to get disconnected again a few minutes later. - Breakfast is BAD. There is some choice, but the quality of most products is really poor. Worst coffee I have ever had. Bacon, cold cuts, etc but also scrambled eggs are either tasteless or taste awful. Beans, bread and croissants were nice though. - air-conditioning does not exist. There is a unit resembling an AC but also a note that it’s an “air control unit” which can blow out air, bit is useless for actually changing room temperature. - pillows are among the worst I’ve slept on - rooms are not cleaned properly (and generally their cleanliness is questionable at least). Bed is made, towels replaced, but that seemed to be the extent of it Overall it’s a compromise.

I was very satisfied with my experience at this hotel. I needed to change my room, and Marina helped me immediately. She was extremely professional, patient, and attentive to my needs. I really want to compliment her for the way she handled everything — she made sure I was comfortable and that everything was perfect. The whole hotel staff was very nice and helpful, but Marina was truly amazing and made a real difference during my stay. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel!

Amazing, in the middle of a heatwave and the air con was perfect. Lovely breakfast as well! Super helpful Larissa at the reception gave me instructions of what to do around the hotel and kept my bags through the day so I could walk around carelessly
