About COVE Cannon Street

Cannon Street runs through the heart of the City of London, close to St Paul's Cathedral and the River Thames, and it's here that COVE Cannon Street offers its apartment-style rooms. The setting puts guests within easy reach of tube stations, riverside walks and the mix of historic landmarks and modern offices that define this part of the capital.

Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with washing machines included, air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms, making them suited to longer stays as well as short breaks. The hotel has a gym, spa and sauna on site, along with indoor and outdoor common areas, a 24 hour reception, lift access and free WiFi throughout. Pets are welcome, and family rooms are available for those travelling in groups.

There's no parking on site, so guests arriving by car should plan accordingly, but the location makes public transport straightforward. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment are all nearby. Staff are generally friendly and rooms are kept spotless, though service has occasionally been reported as inconsistent, so it's worth keeping expectations realistic on that front.

I was quite disappointed with this hotel. I'm a big fan of the Locke hotel group, and since this is one of its sub-brands, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to them. The property feels worn and could really benefit from some renovations. I also found the front desk staff to be unhelpful and, at times, bordering on rude. The layout of the one-bedroom apartment was awkward and impractical. The bathroom was located on the opposite side of the bedroom, meaning you had to walk through the living room and kitchen every time you needed to use it. The washer-dryer combo was another frustration. It came with no instructions, and the front desk couldn't explain how it worked. As a result, I ended up with a load of wet clothes because there was no intuitive way to use the drying function. I then checked the communal laundry room in the basement, but the washers and dryers there were in poor condition, so I decided to air-dry everything instead. The elevator closest to my room was out of service for my entire stay. I don't mind taking the stairs, but hauling luggage up and down five flights wasn't exactly enjoyable. The hotel's biggest advantage is its location. It's about 100 feet from Mansion House Underground station and only a 10-minute walk to St. Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and pubs within easy walking distance. Overall, the excellent location wasn't enough to make up for the disappointing service, dated facilities, and several avoidable inconveniences.

ZERO Stars...This Hotel cancelled my stay - by email at 11pm on the day of arrival. I received the email as I was disembarking from my train from Edinburgh. As a young ( 22 year old) solo traveller now alone in the city with no where to stay, it was an awful position to suddenly find myself. They said it was due to a system glitch but as I checked past reviews there are others that had similar things happen to them. More likely they over book hoping some will not show. They didn't cancel the booking through Expedia for a couple of hours, so I was unable to get help through Expedia to help find another room until they processed the cancellation - at which point I had to pay and find somewhere or I would be wandering the streets of london at midnight . I think they waited until midnight on purpose for some kind of Expedia loophole. Avoid this hotel like the plague and tell all your friends too!!!! As a last minute booking I then had to pay double the price for a room elsewhere. Absolutely appalling for a hotel to do this. Disgusting treatment.

I wouldn't recommend this place to stay. The location is great and very convenient however, the apartment I stayed in was not great. It was clean to the naked eye but there was watermarks all over the bathroom, the towels had a funny damp smell, there were raisins on the floor near the sofa (probably from the previous stay). The key card holder for the electrics was faulty and so we had to call reception 5 minutes after checking in to help us. We requested toilet roll during our stay via the whatsapp channel they use and it took them 40 minutes before my friend went down to reception herself and picked it up. I was also meant to have a package delivered during my stay however it was delayed and came a few days later. The delivery driver called and put the receptionist on the phone and she refused to take the package for me to pick it up 2 days later. I have never had these problems anywhere I have stayed in London so would definitely not stay here again.

I liked very much Cove Canon Street. Even if I had to look at a brick wall through my window, I realised a lot of new things inside staying there. The location is perfect, apartments are beautiful and well equipped. You have everything you need in the hotel. Particular thanks to beautiful Abima, for her help, punctuality and kind attitude! Thanks to Aamal too!
