About Dolphin Inn - The Lodge

Norfolk Square sits in the heart of Paddington, a quiet garden square lined with tall Victorian townhouses just a short walk from the station and the bustle of central London beyond. Dolphin Inn - The Lodge occupies one of these period buildings, giving guests a straightforward base for exploring the capital without the polish or price tag of a larger hotel.

The 20 rooms are simple and functional, with en-suite bathrooms, family options for those travelling with children, and drinks available in room. Free WiFi and luggage storage cover the practical basics, and breakfast is included to set guests up before a day out. Don't expect boutique styling here - this is a down-to-earth, budget-minded stay rather than a designer retreat.

Paddington's streets around the square are well stocked with pubs, restaurants and other eateries, plus nearby entertainment for evenings after sightseeing. With the station so close, links across London and beyond are easy, making the Lodge a reasonable choice for travellers who want a central address and don't need much beyond a clean room and a bed.

The location is very close to the station. Reception is open 24*7, so checking in late was not a problem. Rooms were pretty clean and tidy. For this cost, place was very good. The beds fealt a bit small in size. Guess for a lodge, it might be a standard size.

Decent service and location, but other than that the place is ancient. We had to climb 5 sets of steep stairs to our room and it was challenge since you either risk of falling or getting injured. The rooms were not insulated and you can hear people outside and the underground shaking the entire building. The breakfast was ok, I wish there was more options. For the price we paid for it, I say look somewhere else with better value.

Very central location, next to Paddington station and tube, overlooking a nice small park from our little balcony. 10' walk from Hyde Park. Very helpful receptionists. Very clean and tidy room. Breakfast had all what we really needed. Was relieved to see two new pairs of hotel slippers were supplied along with towels as we had forgotten ours. Free on street parking and easy to find a spot opposite the hotel. There was a dedicated scooter and e-bike right there and we regretted it looking for one at Hyde Park. Cannot wait to visit again.

This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. By far. I don't even know where to begin to describe such an experience. They put me on one of the top floors, so accessibility was a zero. The room was tiny and felt a bit claustrophobic, to be honest. The heating never worked, and to get even a minimal amount of hot water for a shower, I had to turn the bathroom tap all the way on and on lukewarm while flushing the toilet to help the water pressure reach the showerhead. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it took me about 20 minutes each day to get even a trickle of lukewarm water to shower with. The light fixture was broken and didn't close properly, so the little water I managed to get leaked out and flooded the bathroom. As if that weren't enough, the bathroom water wasn't drinkable, and I had to buy bottled water every day.
