About easyhotel South Kensington

Lexham Gardens is a leafy, terraced street in South Kensington, tucked away from the traffic but close enough to walk to the Natural History Museum, the V&A and Kensington Gardens. easyhotel South Kensington occupies a spot on this row, offering a no-frills base for travellers who want to be near the museums and transport links without paying central London prices.

The hotel has 34 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and free WiFi. Rates run from budget to mid-range depending on dates, reflecting the stripped-back approach - rooms are compact and functional rather than plush, and some have been reported as tired in places, so it suits guests after a clean bed and a base rather than a luxury stay. Beds are generally comfortable, and the staff have a reputation for being helpful.

There's no restaurant on site and no parking, but pubs, restaurants and other eateries are all within easy reach nearby, along with entertainment options. Luggage storage is available for early arrivals or late departures. It works well as a practical stopover for exploring the museums and gardens of Kensington on foot.

I booked a small double room with no window. The room was exactly as described. Room was clean and bed was surprisingly very comfortable. Excellent location and only a short walk from Earl’s Court station. Good value for money if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower while exploring the city. Maria checked me in and she was very welcoming and friendly!

You’re definitely getting what you pay for here, especially if you book one of the rooms without a window. I wouldn’t recommend that option during the summer unless you’re comfortable with heat and limited ventilation. That said, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. They provided us with charging adapters, a fan, extra towels, and were always friendly and accommodating whenever we needed anything. The location is also excellent. It’s very close to bus and metro stations, with plenty of great cafés, restaurants, and attractions nearby. There is also a grocery store just around the corner, which was very convenient. Overall, this is a great option for young travellers on a budget who prioritize location over comfort. If you’re not too picky and can tolerate a few inconveniences, it offers good value for money.

The receptionists Andrew and Maria were friendly. But could do very little to change some of the issues. I was stupid enough to book before reading reviews. Ended up there in a heatwave. First windowless room had no air-conditioning. So literally was sealed in a small sauna with a dusty fan. Needless to say had no sleep. Size of the room wasn't so much an issue but dont book if you have lots of luggage. The bathroom is tiny and drains absolutely stunk. I had to buy some bleach. Moved rooms next night thankfully to one with air con. Air con was good when it worked. But could hear all sorts of banging from next room(not in a good way) so once again had poor sleep. There was mould in bath room. Thank fully no bedbugs that I could see. 'EasyJET' owners should hang their heads in shame. I paid 90 quid a night for something I wouldn't leave my cat in. However this seems to be the standard for affordable London accommodation. Absolutely disgraceful standards. What must foreign tourists think when they are faced with hotel standards from the middle ages? And in a Borough where I imagine the uneven and dirty paving slabs cost more each than my entire house

The room itself was clean and small. We got upgraded to a room with a window which was a lovely view, however couldn't open the window. Shower was really good also. We were on the top floor and it doesn't have a lift so going up all the stairs was difficult. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend a short stay here due to the room sizes being small. It is located walking distance from Earls court and Natural history museum. Perfect location.
