About Forest Gate Hotel
Forest Gate, in Greater London, is a handy base for exploring the wider capital, and Forest Gate Hotel sits right above a Victorian pub in the heart of it. The building's period character comes through in the setting, while the twenty rooms themselves are kept simple and functional, each with free Wi-Fi, a minifridge and a microwave. Bathrooms are shared, so this suits guests after straightforward, affordable lodging rather than a polished suite.
Downstairs, the pub doubles as the hotel's restaurant and bar, and breakfast is available on-site. Guests also have access to a gym, a spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and meeting rooms, plus practical extras like luggage storage, laundry service and concierge assistance. Free on-site parking is a useful bonus for anyone arriving by car.
Wanstead Park is close by for a walk outdoors, and Festival Leisure Park adds another point of interest nearby, alongside further pubs, restaurants and entertainment in the surrounding streets. It's a no-frills option best suited to those who want a comfortable place to sleep and easy access to local amenities.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel should be shut down as soon as possible. The photos advertised online are completely misleading and do not reflect the actual condition of the property. I stayed in a twin room which was in extremely poor condition. The wardrobe had a missing door, the bedside drawer contained mould, and the room had a terrible smell throughout. The overall environment felt unhygienic and unsafe. The shared toilets and showers were also in a very poor state, and the paint on the walls was peeling off. Due to the condition of the room and concerns for my health, I had no choice but to leave the hotel, resulting in me losing my money. I would not even give this hotel 1 star and would strongly recommend that others avoid staying here.

I paid £250 for a the hall hire, plus £50 deposit for cleaning fee, (was recommended this place by someone). The hall has seen better days, it was freezing cold, the central heating was luke warm. Paint falling off the ceiling, ladies toilet light going on and off while trying to pee. Men's toilet, no toilet seat plus it looked like bullet holes in the walls. The lady bartender looked like she really didn't want to be there. I was told by the owner that we had buy drinks at the bar not realising that the bar was not in the hall and we had to go outside to get access to the pub to get drinks.

Disappointing Experience with The Forest Gate Hotel I recently stayed at The Forest Gate Hotel and was extremely disappointed with the service. Despite having a confirmed booking, I was told that the room was overbooked, and they couldn't accommodate me as expected. The lack of organization and communication from the hotel staff was frustrating, and I had to spend extra time resolving the issue. The hotel's customer service seemed unprepared to handle the situation, and I was left feeling disrespected as a paying customer. The experience overshadowed what could have been a great stay otherwise. I hope the hotel takes steps to improve their booking process and customer service. *Rating:* 0/5 stars *Recommendation:* Be cautious with bookings, and consider verifying with the hotel directly to avoid similar issues.

The room looked okay, however the hotel itself had a terrible smell. It was also difficult to sleep with this emergency light in the room.
