What guests say
Price of the hotel was very cheap for a good location, the cheapness however is overpriced for the service we received so not cheap at all. We had a pleasant entrance, was informed by the lady on the front desk that she would be leaving at 9pm and there would be no staff at the hotel, this defeats the point of the advertised 24 hour help desk. Up to the room, a nice wave of overy hot air to come at us. Not as seen in the pictures unless the pictures were taken years ago, marks on the wall, chipped floorboards, these were also loose, managed to get a souvenir or a sore toe from them, based on other reviews probably the better bathroom since the shower was enclosed rather than being above the toilet so no 2 for 1 for us that weekend, shower head did leak, far too small to move without turning it off or adjusting the temperature and lucky to not drop anything straight down the drain. To commwnt on the room accessories the towels barely wrapped around a small adult and no hand towel was provided, there was a little mini fridge that looked like it had been living outside and not been turned on for 5 years. We did try to conquer the heat with the air conditioning unit and a window, problems arose when the unit barely worked and was filled with dust and the window didn't exist so couldn't be opened. Non the less we thought we would grin and bear as it was cheap and cheerful to just sleep in and leave early in the morning just like originally thought and planned. Went out for some food and came back near 11, put our heads down and wondered why the pillows were so hard, did the usual thing of take out the pillow cases to plump up, from one of the pillows I removed the first and second pillowcase to find 2 pancake pillows, very flat as you can imagine and very hard, not a problem till you realize that white pillows shouldn't have black on them, they were both covered in mold. We decided there and then to leave in call to inform them that we left at the grand time of 1130pm. The man on the phone had a bit of a foul language but said he would contact us the next day, he didn't. We took it upon ourselves to ring them ourselves and they were very rude again, refused a refund or to communicate and hung up, this was a few weeks ago now and refuse to even speak to booking.com regarding the matter. So after our eventful wilderness stay in room 10 we had a very poor breathing day the day after, presumably caused by the dust, grime and mold.

I will start off by saying that for the price, this is a fantastic hotel. Of course, you won't have a pool or a huge lounge to relax in like fancier establishments, but if you come to London to see the city and sleep in the evenings, this is a great choice. The location is great, 30 minutes by bus till the center, everything is easily accessible. The neighborhood itself is also quite nice, never felt worried for my safety even when we were out at in the middle of the night. 12 to 15 minute walk and you're near a shopping center and restaurants to grab some food. Staff are friendly and helpful, even stayed till 01-02 am to greet late travelers. Every day room service changed the towels and blankets, and took out the trash. For a hotel near the center, with a private bathroom, this is a great choice for budget travelers. They provide free WIFI and the speed was okay, completely usable to watch movies/videos in the evening. The only issues I had were minor - some blankets had a little bit of mold on them. This is common in the UK in lower/basement floors, it's a really damp place, but nevertheless, some may be put off by that. The beds were not the most comfortable, you could sort of feel the springs through the mattress. We were tired enough it did not really matter, but some might be more sensitive to that. And then the lack of a shower curtain made the whole bathroom wet every morning after a shower, which made going in there afterwards a bit annoying. These are all very minor issues - for the price and location, this place really can't be beat. We spent 220 euros for 3 nights for a room with 2 single beds - That's 37 euros per person, per night, in the center of London. Great value, and the checkout time was at 11:00 am, which is late enough that if you had a long previous night (like we did), you're not left on the street completely tired early in the morning. They also can hold on to your luggage even after checkout, meaning if you have to leave later in the evening, you don't have to carry your suitcases with you, even though you've already checked out. We didn't use this opportunity as our destination was on the way to the airport, but others might find it very useful. Nice place, would stay again with pleasure.

Affordable hotel if you are looking for cheap. The area is nice and good, the rooms are small beds clean bathroom as well as fresh towels soap and shampoo every day. It seems A small renovation would be useful, such as repainting the walls because you can see various scratches or a floor that has a lot of time on them. If anyone would like to read the Bible, you can also find it, I don't know if it's every room, but in mine it was😁

Exceptionally pleasant staff and room quality - great temperature control of shower and taps with really hot water. The room was immaculate and they provided blankets with an additional plug-in heater as well. Traditional English style hotel and excellent proximity to tube stations - 2 underground stations 5 and 20 minutes walk away. Highly recommended.
