About Hotel Oliver
Hotel Oliver occupies a period building on Cromwell Road, in the stretch of central London between Earls Court and Kensington. It's a no-frills base rather than a grand address, with a lift for easier access and a small garden offering a bit of outdoor space rarely found in this part of town.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks provided, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. It's worth knowing that some rooms are on the compact side and maintenance can be inconsistent, so this suits guests after a functional place to sleep rather than a polished stay. Staff are consistently described as helpful and friendly, which goes some way to smoothing over the rough edges. Luggage storage is handy for early arrivals or late departures, and airport transfers can be arranged.
The location is the strongest card here, with tube and bus stations close by making it easy to explore the wider city. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries surround the hotel, and there's entertainment and a golf course nearby for those wanting to venture further afield.
What guests say
Despite some negative reviews read, we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, parking was well organised, breakfast was much better than expected. The room was in the modern extension and was clean and air conditioned and comfortable. This is a no frills hotel that is perfectly functional for an overnight stay.

I enjoyed my stay here; it is a budget hotel, so you can't expect too much. My bathroom was extremely small; I couldn't even shave in it or turn my body around. I had a single room with a single bed; I wasn't expecting too much. The location is great, very well connected to transportation, a grocery store, and a major underground station. The staff is great, kind, and always available to help. I would recommend it for short trips and/or a budget solution in the London area.

Rooms are adequate if you are only really using it for sleeping. A couple of quirks with this hotel however. Doors use actual keys instead of electronic key cards. That's not too weird since it is an older hotel however, they want you to leave the keys at the front desk when you leave the hotel to go out sightseeing or whatever. Also, you have to leave some sort of cash deposit to let you take the tv remote and the AC remote back to the rooms with you. You definitely need the AC remote to change temperature and air flow since it is one of those mini split systems and only has a power button on the machine itself. There is a place to sit out in front of the hotel as well as an outdoor courtyard inside the hotel. Decent bathroom size and water pressure was high. They offer instant tea and coffee all day long in a dining area as well as daily breakfast in a 2 hour timeframe.

Decent budget hotel in Earl's Court, however......the bathroom was so narrow that in order to use the shower you needed to either step over or edge around the toilet. To sit on the loo, you need to approach from the side, sit down then shuffle round. If you were under 4ft tall, your legs might not touch the wall....for any average sized human your knees are pushed up against the wall.....seriously poor. Room massively hot. No Aircon just a fan. Window opened but massive pile of pigeon poo outside

Guests consistently praise this hotel for its great location close to both tube and bus stations, as well as its helpful and friendly staff.
Other reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained and can be small.
