About NH London Kensington
A restaurant and bar on site, alongside a daily breakfast, give NH London Kensington a solid base for guests who don't fancy heading straight out after a day of travelling or sightseeing. The hotel sits on Cromwell Road, with Kensington (Olympia) close by, and pubs, bars and further restaurants dotted around the immediate area for those who want to explore beyond the property.
The 121 rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and kitchenettes, which makes them a practical choice for anyone staying longer than a night or two and wanting to prepare their own food. There's also a garden, free WiFi throughout, a lift, laundry service and meeting rooms, covering both business and leisure needs.
Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful, and the hotel is generally felt to offer good value given its central location. That said, some rooms have been reported as poorly kept, and service standards aren't always consistent, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the positives.

I stayed in 2 different hotels in Kensington during my vacation. The other was a 5 star hotel and it felt very out of touch for your ordinary person, or uncomfortable. The Ember Locke is not that. It is a great place to stay, it made us feel more at home than we did at a larger hotel. The Cafe/Restaurant is great for all 3 meals. Great matcha, great pancakes, great pizza. The rooms are very warm and inviting, it makes it feel like your own place rather than a copy paste corporate hotel room. The staff was amazing all around; front desk, waitresses, baristas, etc. We were fully aware to not expect the room to be cleaned every day as it says on the website which seems to be a theme on some negative reviews for the hotel (do your own research before booking). For us it was no problem at all, we stayed 3 nights and if you’re a clean person to begin with you should have no problem with taking care of your own room. The cost per night is a great value. The location is also a plus being 25 minutes to the airport in a cab, 10 minute walk to High Street, and a short tube ride away from downtown. We would stay here again and again.

Edit: We were told we’d receive a refund for the night we left over 2 weeks ago and have not received one. They have also not replied to our emails. This is genuinely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I am baffled there aren’t more bad reviews. Upon arrival, we paid for early check in, which we were told they “didn’t see” on our reservation, leaving us to wait an additional 2 hours in the lobby. There were dozens of people also waiting on delayed rooms. Our room was finally ready, when we hear an employee say “someone is stuck in the elevator again.” We had to retrieve our bags ourselves out of the back room, and we were brought through the back to an “employee elevator” to our room. Once entering our suite, the room absolutely reaked of garbage. One person in our group gagged at the smell. There was trash left in the room, the bathrooms are outdated and disgusting, our air conditioner is broken during a heatwave, and they told us they have no fans. We we’re taking cold showers to cool down and discovered the shower doesn’t drain. All we were offered was free breakfast and a 20% discount on our room, which was over £750 for 2 nights. I can not explain how awful this place has been. We wanted to leave before even staying a night, but everything in the area was booked. We decided to just leave after one night, and stopped for a quick breakfast in the lobby. The carpets in the restaurant are disgusting and stained. The stairs we had to take due to the broken elevator were also disgusting.

i wanted to be excited about this spot. the decor is what initially caught my eye. and then i read the google reviews. not knowing what to expect, i had a good experience overall. it’s evident the place is owned by private equity and the owners are out of touch. chips in paint, bits of dirt in places that would be skipped during a rushed room clean… imperfections that you wouldn’t expect when paying this much for a room. the front desk staff seemed chronically stressed out and i get the sense that staff generally are not given the proper support to do the jobs asked of them. anyway — should you stay here? yes! it was really beautiful and intentionally decorated. it suited our needs for a quick 1 night trip. should you expect a perfect stay? no.

Guests consistently praise this apart-hotel for its friendly and helpful staff, great value given its central location, and rooms equipped with kitchenettes.
Other reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained and the service can be inconsistent.
