About Hour Glass Hotel

Tucked just off Thurlow Street on Beaconsfield Road in SE17, Hour Glass Hotel sits among the everyday streets of south London rather than the tourist crowds, with local pubs, restaurants and transport links within easy reach. It's a straightforward base for getting around the capital without the city-centre price tag.

The 21 rooms are basic but practical, each with a fridge, kettle and TV, so self-catering small meals or a cup of tea is easy enough. Downstairs, the pub atmosphere is a real draw, with staff generally on hand to help and a bar that gives the place a sociable, local feel. Breakfast and a snack bar are available, along with free WiFi and luggage storage for those passing through. That said, maintenance can be patchy in places, and some rooms have had issues with hot water, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly.

Free on-site parking is a genuine plus for anyone driving into London, and with a restaurant and further pubs and eateries nearby, there's no shortage of places to eat close by. It suits travellers after simple, affordable accommodation with a friendly welcome rather than added frills.

Well what can i say! No hot water, so couldnt have a shower, couldnt boil a kettle and fill the sink to have a wash as plug didnt work, no heating, so room was cold. Our friends did have a fan heater, but we had nothing! Variety size packets of Cornflakes left for us but no bowls to put them in! They didnt do food either. Would definately not stay here again.

This is cheap accommodation in a pub in South Central London. The facilities were basic, just as I expected. This was half the price of the other properties available. The staff in the pub were excellent and friendly. I am very pleased I found this place and I will certainly use it again.
