About Orchard Hotel
Paddington Station is within easy reach of the Orchard Hotel, making it a practical base for getting around London by tube or rail, while nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues on and around Sussex Gardens give guests plenty to do once they're settled in.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. A lift serves the building, and several guests have singled out the showers as a strong point. Rooms do tend to be on the compact side, so this suits travellers who plan to spend most of their time out exploring rather than lounging indoors.
Breakfast is included, though it doesn't always match the standard of the rooms themselves. There's also a golf course nearby for those looking to fill a spare afternoon. Overall, the Orchard Hotel works best as a straightforward, well-located stopover for exploring the city rather than a destination in itself.
What guests say
Our stay at this hotel was pleasant, but we experienced several disappointments that I believe a 3-star hotel should not have. While the room was quite small, it was cute and tidy, which is a big plus. However, there was no kettle in the room, so we couldn't make tea or coffee. In the bathroom, no shampoo or shower gel was provided (which I consider a standard for any hotel), nor was there a bath mat. Furthermore, any additional towel is charged £1. The breakfast was extremely poor, with no fruit or vegetables, meaning there are practically no options for vegans except perhaps toast and jam. Additionally, the breakfast hours are far too short. We also complained about the room being cold in the evening. When we asked how to turn on the heating, the receptionist told us it would start automatically after 11 PM – it never did. Additionally, the water pressure was often weak, and in the morning, when most guests use the bathroom, there was no water at all. On a positive note, the staff was polite and the location is excellent. It is very close to Paddington Station and well-connected to public transport. I believe this accommodation is fine for a 2-3 day stay, but definitely not for an entire week like we had.

I had a very good stay at the Orchard Hotel. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and overall excellent value for the money I paid. The staff and atmosphere were lovely, and everything else was very good. The only thing missing in the room was a kettle and cups. I don’t mind if tea or coffee is not provided, but having a kettle in the room is essential for many guests. Apart from that, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely consider coming back.

While the room was reasonably spacious and the water pressure on the second floor was good, the overall experience was lacking. Basic essentials like shower gel and shampoo are only available upon request, and the room felt dated. Most concerning was the cleanliness of the sheets and the poor soundproofing; I could clearly hear both the street traffic and the neighbors throughout the night. The room lacked standard conveniences like a kettle, fridge, or safe. While there is an elevator and the heater worked intermittently, the breakfast was limited.

A good hotel, helpful and very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, thick sheets, and a spacious bathroom. The only complaint is that we missed having more variety at breakfast; there were eggs, ham, and cheese, but I won't count the cereal because it's more of a children's meal...

Some guests say this hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms, a great shower, and a convenient location near Paddington Station with easy access to public transportation and local dining options.
Other reviews mention the breakfast can be disappointing and the rooms can be small.
