About Premier Inn London Southgate

Air conditioning in every one of the 90 rooms is a welcome detail at Premier Inn London Southgate, a modern hotel on John Bradshaw Road in North London. It's built to the familiar Premier Inn formula, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms and accessible rooms available, spread across six floors served by a lift.

Rooms are consistently described as clean and spacious, with comfortable beds making up for the fairly standard decor. Breakfast offers a good range of options, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for evening meals and drinks, alongside 24-hour reception and drinks available in-room. On-site parking is available for a charge. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though service standards can vary between visits.

The location near Southgate underground station makes getting into central London straightforward, and Alexandra Palace is also within easy reach. Pubs and restaurants nearby offer further options for eating out beyond the hotel itself.

The hotel was decent overall, but there are definitely areas that could be improved. It felt very much like a self-service hotel, with minimal interaction from staff. Free tea, coffee, milk and sugar were available at reception, which was a nice touch but pretty basic again. One member of staff stood out and was particularly helpful. They kindly validated our parking for the following day because we knew we wouldn't be back at the hotel by 4pm. That was appreciated, although the parking validation system itself is confusing and poorly thought out, as it doesn't seem to work well with the way guests actually use the hotel, nor did one of the members of staff know how to use it properly. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the extra pillows made for a great night's sleep, which was one of the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the bathroom let the hotel down. There was visible dirt on the shower wall, and the shower head was covered in limescale, making it feel like it hadn't been properly cleaned in some time. We were also only provided with a very limited amount of toilet paper for a two-night stay, which meant it easily ran out. Luckily for us, we always pack our own during stays. Overall, the stay was comfortable thanks to the bed and the helpful staff member, but better attention to cleanliness and a more practical parking system would make a noticeable difference.

Great, helpful, friendly staff. Big rooms with air con working very well. Car park spot easy to get, looks like free spaces all weekend. Right by tube on P line and near some nice bakeries. But toilet could have done with a more thorough clean and the shower was luke warm at best with so much limescale in the head it went everywhere.

I personally have only stayed in a handful of hotels but this hotel has been the best, everything was lovely and clean. The food was amazing and fresh!! If we needed help with anything the lovely Laylie (i think that’s how you spell her name:)) couldn’t help us enough, she made our stay so comfortable and always has a smile on her face. Thank you so much for making our stay perfect :))

Brilliant hotel! Big rooms! Good variety breakfast alwith Gluten free options and lots of choices. Lovely and kind staff. Clean and safe. Rooms are little dated and could use a good a bit of tlc, our family room had a shower that was not movable on the top which made showering the kids a little difficult, please look into having the other movable option hotel management. But over all the food options for lunch and dinner with nice. Tube a stone throw away with a little high street with lots of food choice and a very big asda, as well as boots and other shops. Not a shopping high street. Over all great stay.
