About Royal Cambridge Hotel

Step into a room at the Royal Cambridge Hotel and you'll find a comfortable bed and a tidy, well-kept space rather than anything flashy. Some rooms are on the smaller side and can let in noise from the street, so light sleepers may want to request a quieter spot, but the overall standard of cleanliness and comfort holds up well for the price.

The hotel itself is a 39-room property on Sussex Gardens in central London, with a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast served each morning, and free WiFi throughout. Guests travelling with a car benefit from free on-site parking, while porter and concierge services, luggage storage, and business facilities including meeting rooms make it workable for both leisure and work trips. There's also a garden, and the venue can host weddings.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, adding to the sense of good value for the location. Paddington Station is close by for onward travel, and Hyde Park is within easy reach for a walk. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries surround the hotel, making it a straightforward base for exploring London on foot.

The rooms were small but clean and well maintained. Due to the heatwave, a fan was provided in the room, and it was sufficient to keep us comfortable. The location is excellent, with easy access from Paddington Station. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants, and pubs nearby, and Hyde Park is within walking distance. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant, making it a great base for exploring London.

We stayed in a quadruple room, which was located on the top floor (they have a lift). Fantastic hotel. Great location, clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. They even kindly let us leave our luggage there whilst we explored, after our checkout. We could not fault this hotel and would definitely recommend.

Excellent location! I had a 2nd-floor single room—a bit small, but perfectly adequate for a solo traveler. The shower had excellent hot water pressure, and the heater was very efficient. Given the location, cleanliness, and price, it definitely deserves 4 stars. The only issue is the poor soundproofing, though it didn't bother my sleep. If you are sensitive to noise, remember to bring earplugs.

Just want to know how this dump got 3stars…in a word: Hellish. The tiny room was a blistering sweat box with a weak, dirty fan. I asked the man up front if he had another fan and he said ‘no…you’ve got a window’. Our window looked out onto an high walled alley/- no air-flow whatsoever. Nothing like trying to sleep in a puddle of sweat, in a loud outdated room. Even had it been Winter, please be advised this hotel is REALLY a weak 2-stars at best.
