A traditional pub stay on Shakespeare Crescent in London, within reach of golf, entertainment and local restaurants, with genuine local character.

About Shakespeare Inn

Golf courses, entertainment venues, and a good spread of pubs and restaurants sit within easy reach of Shakespeare Inn, making it a practical base for guests who want to explore London without straying far from a comfortable pint at the end of the day. The area around Shakespeare Crescent has plenty to keep visitors occupied, whether that means a round of golf, an evening out, or simply working through the local eateries on foot.

Shakespeare Inn itself is an adults-only guest accommodation built around a proper local pub, with en-suite family rooms, free WiFi, and drinks available in room. Breakfast is included, and the garden offers a spot to sit outside, while 24-hour reception means arrivals and queries are covered at any hour.

What sets the place apart is its genuine pub atmosphere, a rarer thing to find in this part of London, with friendly staff and regulars giving it a real local feel rather than a generic hotel bar. The drinks selection is well regarded and reasonably priced, and the overall mood is relaxed and welcoming. It suits travellers who want their accommodation to double as a decent night out, with the city's attractions and transport links close by for daytime exploring.

A real old school London pub with a great cd jukebox, friendly staff and an excellent pizzeria next door. Tucked away in Stoke Newington - well worth a visit.

Easily my favourite pub in Stokey. Just the right size, friendly bar staff and clientele, quality beverages and still a few local characters. What more do you want from a pub

🚇 Dalston Kingsland 🍺 £5.50 Guinness ❤️ The quintessential local pub. . Nestled in quiet residential backstreet in the heart of Stoke Newington you’ll find The Shakespeare pub. The nearest station is Dalston Kingsland which is just over a ten minute walk to get here. . The Shakespeare Tavern as it was then called was built by Whitbread in 1866. Today it is run by one of the best pubco’s in London, Remarkable Pubs. . This once two bar pub has an elongated Island servery which has some superb colourful retro posters behind the optics. One of my favourite features of this pub are the two etched glass parches complete with mosaic tiled floors with the pubs name on. Around the walls are an eclectic assortment of artworks and mirrors which make for a talking point to a first time visitor. At the rear of the pub is a cosy heated beer garden, there is also additional seating at the front to watch the world go by. . The beer line up was excellent, there is a good mix of homegrown beers, European classics plus a couple of cask ales. As it was St Patricks Day, I decided to round the day off with a Guinness. My pint was superb and was very well kept, price point was good at £5.50. If you’re hungry, there is a burger menu available with vegetarian and vegan options too. A hamburger and a side will set you back a tenner. . We arrived just after 6pm, the pub was packed and had a nice upbeat buzz. The crowd was a mix of Stokey Hipsters, older indigenous locals and a few parents with younger children. I’m not a fan of children in pubs, for me it’s for adults only. The service was quick, attentive and done so with a smile. This pub does have a lovely local pub feel to it, one of best I’ve experienced in ages. . The Shakespeare was a fantastic visit and we all really enjoyed spending time here. This pub has that money can’t buy neighbourhood local feel where you feel immediately welcome. The beer line up was great and I loved the mix of old and new decor. This is another superb Stoke Newington hostelry that you need to pay a visit. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 17.03.23
