About Sheriff Hotel

Warwick Way is a busy stretch of Pimlico lined with terraced townhouses, tucked just south of Victoria Station and a short walk from Westminster's landmarks. The Sheriff Hotel occupies one of these buildings, offering 25 rooms in a spot that puts most of central London within easy reach on foot or by tube.

Rooms come with the basics covered - comfortable beds, a kettle for tea and coffee, and plug adapters for visitors from abroad. That said, upkeep is inconsistent, and some rooms could do with more attention than they get. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar, breakfast is served on site, and free WiFi runs throughout. A garden offers a bit of outdoor space, and the hotel also hosts weddings, with concierge services and luggage storage on hand for those passing through.

Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in a part of London where that's rare. Beyond the front door, Victoria Station puts the rest of the city within easy striking distance, and there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries dotted nearby for evenings out.

My partner and I were a bit worried about our stay here after reading some more recent reviews but we were pleasantly surprised by our stay the sheriff. Really excellent location with lots of pubs, cafes, and food joints just steps away. Very accessible for transit and the neighbourhood is very quiet. The room is small and in need of an update but for the low price I’m not sure what else people would expect? The user experience could be greatly improved with a couple of hooks to hang towels on but otherwise no complaints. When we arrived our sheets were damp and we asked for a replacement at the office. The bed was made up with new sheets while we were out and there was no fuss or trouble. The room was cleaned daily, on the last day we didn’t get a restock of the milk and coffee but otherwise it was good service! Yes there were a few dust bunnies and discolouration on the ceiling from a previous water leak but again, this is in the realm of expectations for the very reasonable price we paid for a hotel in central London. The biggest issue for us was the lack of hot water. We had a separate bathroom from the room and neither the sink in the room or the shower in the bathroom would get hot water. Our showers were pretty unenjoyable. If you’re looking for an affordable spot to keep your things and rest your head while visiting London I would definitely recommend this hotel!

My experience at the Sheriff Hotel was reasonable. It is a very basic hotel and is really only suitable if you just need somewhere to sleep. I wouldn't recommend staying for more than two nights. There were four of us staying in a ground-floor room. The room only had one small fan, which was nowhere near enough to keep four people cool. As there is no air conditioning, the hotel should provide larger fans, especially in rooms designed for four or more guests. Another disappointing point was the cleanliness. There was a noticeable amount of dust around and even on top of the beds, giving the impression that the room had not been properly cleaned for quite some time. We also noticed that the corridors and reception area were not particularly clean. The customer service was very basic. We were simply handed the key with very little interaction, no welcome and no useful information about the hotel or the area. Considering the hotel is already quite basic, a friendlier and more welcoming service would have made a big difference. It's also worth knowing that the hotel only provides towels. If you stay here, make sure you bring your own toiletries, as none are supplied. There is a complimentary tea and coffee station, which is a nice touch, although the selection is quite limited. One thing that concerned me was the luggage storage service. The hotel allows guests to leave their luggage before check-in or after check-out, but there is no tagging system or any proof that a particular bag belongs to you. All the luggage is piled together in one room. Staff simply unlock the door and ask you to leave your bags inside. When you return to collect them, anyone can walk into the room and pick up a suitcase. We did not experience any problems, but the system did not feel secure. I would recommend avoiding leaving valuables in your luggage if you need to use this service. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its location, which I would rate 10/10. It is in a quiet area and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and other central London attractions. You can also hire bicycles nearby, making it easy to get around. Overall, considering the price, it is an acceptable option if you only need a place to sleep. However, the hotel could be greatly improved by providing better cleaning standards, friendlier customer service, better ventilation in the rooms and a more secure luggage storage system.

The rooms are small but clean. Bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was ideal, just a short walk from Victoria Station, with lots of really good pubs nearby. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The room had 2 usb ports, a UK plug, a European plug and a US plug. Wi-Fi worked great! And the price was great!

I paid less than £50 for a night here, and I had no problems at all. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. There was a little external noise, but nothing that woke me up in the night. Room well equipped with tea/coffee, TV and hairdryer. The shower was amazing! Powerful and hot. I was actually allocated a room in the hotel next door, and was in room 16 on the top floor with lots of stairs but wasn't a problem for me. For a budget hotel this exceeded expectations and I would certainly return. I could pull it up on a heap of minor incidental things but nothing that affected my stay so I won't. Great location too, 5 min walk to Victoria.
