About St James Court A Taj Hotel

St James Court A Taj Hotel suits visitors who want a proper full-service stay in central London without the noise of the busiest tourist strips. With 329 rooms, it works equally well for business trips, special occasions such as weddings, or a comfortable few days of sightseeing, thanks to a setting on Buckingham Gate that is central yet calm.

Rooms are spacious and well kept, finished with elegant decor and good-quality amenities, and come with air conditioning, drinks and free WiFi as standard. The hotel's facilities extend well beyond the bedroom, with a restaurant and bar, an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, plus meeting rooms and business services for those mixing work with their stay. A garden, porter and concierge services, valet parking and childcare add to the sense of a hotel built for longer or more demanding visits, and free on-site parking is a welcome extra in this part of London.

Beyond the doors, restaurants, pubs and entertainment are all close by, making it an easy base for exploring the city on foot.

Traveling from the USA to London and celebrating two birthdays away from home could have easily felt overwhelming, but St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived. We stayed from April 27 through May 5, and the Taj team went out of their way to make our family celebrations incredibly special and memorable. Walking into birthday decorations, thoughtful banners, wine, cake, and even adorable kiddie toy ducks for the little ones was such a heartwarming touch. The complimentary upgrade to a suite was an unexpected surprise that made our stay even more comfortable and memorable. It truly felt like the staff wanted us to create lifelong memories there, and we did. The staff across the hotel was kind, attentive, and welcoming. Housekeeping deserves special recognition — every single day we returned to perfectly refreshed rooms with crisp new sheets, fresh towels, and everything spotless. After long days exploring London, that comfort meant a lot to us. Breakfast each morning offered a great start to the day, although a few more smiles from some members of the breakfast staff would make the experience even warmer. That said, Niveah was absolutely exceptional. Her kindness, energy, and hospitality stood out every morning and made us feel truly welcome.

One of the highlights of my visit was the excellent customer service. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to assist with a smile. They made every effort to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and stress-free. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests left a lasting impression on me. The surroundings were equally impressive. The location was perfect, allowing easy access to many of London’s famous attractions. I stayed at the St. James Court Taj Hotel in London and overall my experience was very positive, with several aspects that truly stand out. The location is undoubtedly one of its main strengths: central yet quiet, perfect for getting around easily both on foot and by public transport. The atmosphere of the hotel is elegant and well-maintained, with a successful blend of classic British style and more contemporary touches. The rooms are spacious (by London standards) and well kept, with comfortable beds and good soundproofing that ensures a pleasant rest. The level of cleanliness was also generally very good. The staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to respond to requests with professionalism, although at times I felt the service was slightly less attentive than one might expect from a hotel of this level. The breakfast is varied and of good quality, with a wide selection of both sweet and savory options, although it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, this hotel offers a high-level stay, with some room for improvement, particularly in the consistency of service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, a strategic location, and an elegant environment in the heart of London. One aspect worth mentioning is that part of the hotel was undergoing renovation during my stay. This was communicated to us via email through Booking prior to arrival. In my case, the works did not have any significant impact on the overall experience, but it is something to be aware of.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at St James and it just gets better everytime. The rooms are wonderful and the facilities superb. The location is 2nd too non and the food fantastic. We had the Midsummer Night's dream Afternoon tea which was delicious and a great experience. However, the highlight are the staff! We have been made to feel very special everytime we have been there and this time was next level. Prativa made the check in a very special experience and couldnt have been more helpful, the concierges Jean and William were amazing and really helped us out and it was fantastic to meet Binayak, who was so helpful in helping us with our next stay and Amar and Krishnanaveni who looked after us in the bar! The staff are amazing and are the main reason we go back! I have missed so many great people out! Thank you all, especially Prativa and Binayak! Binayak kolagi - Dherai Dhanybhad, ekdam ramro manche cha. Shyabash bhai! Dhanybad :)
