About Stratford Hotel

Romford Road runs through this corner of East London, and it's here, in a Victorian-style townhouse, that the Stratford Hotel offers its guests a straightforward base. The area has grown up around the Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City, both within reach, giving the surrounding streets a mix of old townhouses and newer development.

Rooms are simply furnished with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks available in-room, with family rooms on offer for those travelling with children. There's a garden for guests who want a bit of outdoor space, plus luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures. This is low-key lodging rather than a place built around facilities, so guests should expect the basics done adequately rather than any extras.

For food and drink, there are pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with other options for entertainment beyond the hotel itself. It suits those who want a no-frills place to sleep within striking distance of Stratford's shopping and the Olympic Park, rather than a destination in its own right.

Staff were lovely and very understanding but the rooms themselves were dirty, including mould in the bathroom ceiling and trash under the bed. I woke up after the first night with bed bug bites on my legs as well. The bed was fine but the blankets were terribly cheap. They never locked the front or back door in a slightly dodgy neighbourhood which made me feel a bit unsafe. When my girlfriend reviewed her experience with it honestly on Booking.Com, the hotel staff tried to bribe her with a free stay in order to take down her negative review. Do not recommend.

Close to amenities and Westfield's. Parking available and then they had the audacity to charge for it, which I’d not mentioned when booking. Staff are unpleasant. The room is not cleaned as expected. Room is small but is does the job of a place to sleep. The whole building needs a full modernisation, decor is out of date as is the furniture in the room. This feels like an old school student accommodation where you hear doors slamming, traffic room outside and your neighbours conversation. If you’re expecting a quiet night do not expect to get that. There is no kettle in the room, instead they offer non branded tea and coffee complementary downstairs, but you have a delight of fridge! I would not recommend this if you are expecting a luxury stay. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, they are giving you a false hope!

I would not recommend OYO Stratford Hotel London. The building is outdated and poorly maintained, and the rooms and interior feel neglected. There was mold in the bathroom, the window was small and dirty, and the whole place smelled bad. The bedsheets felt synthetic and not very clean, and the mattress was very uncomfortable. Overall, it felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The only positive points are the price and the location close to public transport. The staff was nice, but unfortunately that did not make up for how filthy and poorly maintained the hotel was.

Nice and cosy place if you need to spend few nights in Stratford area. Everything is nearby, staff is very kind and helpful. Don't expect breakfast to bed and golden bedsheets and you'll be just fine! Highly recommended for simple stay!
