About The Hoxton, Shoreditch
The Hoxton on Great Eastern Street was the first of the group and remains the one that set the pattern: a big open lobby that functions as a public living room and workspace, a bar that fills with people who are not staying at the hotel, and bedrooms priced by size rather than by view. It was fully refurbished in 2025, so the fittings are current, with parquet floors and industrial detailing running through the 210 rooms.
Rooms are graded from Shoebox upwards through Snug, Cosy and Roomy. The Shoebox is genuinely small and priced accordingly; Cosy is the sensible choice for two people staying more than a night. All of them have decent beds, good showers, and a hanging breakfast bag left on the door in the morning with granola, yoghurt, fruit and juice, which is included in the rate. There is no minibar charge for the water and there is no resort fee, which in central London is worth something.
Two restaurants sit in the building. Il Bambini Club does seasonal pizza, fresh pasta and cocktails at ground level, and Llama Inn is a Peruvian rooftop restaurant with a terrace looking over the City towers. Both are popular with locals, which keeps the place from feeling like a hotel bubble.
Shoreditch is the draw. Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, Columbia Road flower market on Sundays and the Old Street bars are all within walking distance, and Liverpool Street and Old Street stations put the rest of London within twenty minutes. It is lively rather than restful, and better suited to a weekend of eating and drinking than to a quiet break.

3.5/5 - Fantastic brand, location, interior design and staff. Flexi-time check in is a fantastic feature too. But our Shoebox room still didn't feel fully worth the price (£144 for a Friday night in June with an ex-staff discount code). I actually think the name doesn't do the room justice. It is actually designed well to allow a lot of features into a small space, with enough room to manouver around—despite us having two large suitcases. But there was only one set of towels on our bed when we arrived, and I'm sure I entered 2 adults on the booking. Having to request another set shouldn't have been necessary. But the biggest letdown was the shower—It didn't have a door and the bathroom flooded every time we used it. There was only one drainage hole directly below. The water would always escape around the cubicle, surrounding the toilet and sit there, without draining backwards. This design choice was baffling to me, and it didn't leave the bathroom in a pleasant condition for the next user. I know it's a quality brand in London, but the price didn't feel fully justified, although we had a positive stay in every other respect.

The hotel was great booked as part of package for take that, we had two twin rooms booked one was ready and the other was not, the head of housekeeping apologised and said it would be another 40 minutes till it was ready asked if would like a drink at the bar we had just been to the bar asked if possible to upgrade the room but were fully booked. She offered us discount on a meal so we went to eat while waiting for the room. Went to pay the bill after the meal explained we had some discount and they staff said to pay when we left. When we checked out the discount was more than discussed. Thanks you so much Angelica ( think that was her name) you were brilliant

I recently stayed at The Hoxton Shoreditch during my first days in London, and I would like to thank the wonderful staff who made me feel so welcome. After a long trip, I arrived feeling a bit nervous and out of my comfort zone. The Hoxton has a vibrant, youthful atmosphere, However, from the moment I arrived, Angelica, Morgan, Rianna, and Sophie at the front desk were absolutely outstanding. They were always kind, attentive, and genuinely interested in helping. Whether I had a question, needed assistance, or made a request, they responded immediately and with a smile. Their warmth and professionalism made a real difference to my stay and helped me feel comfortable and at home in a new city. The hotel itself is stylish, lively, and very well located, but what I will remember most is the exceptional service provided by these four team members. They are a credit to The Hoxton. Thank you, Angelica, Morgan, Rianna, and Sophie, for your kindness and for making my stay such a positive experience.

Rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but we made it work by simply pushing the chairs to the side. The food here is absolutely phenomenal! The heavenly Cacio e Pepe stuffed pasta at IL Bambino Club was the best pasta I’ve had in London. The tiramisu martini is a must-try—you’ll thank me later. There’s also a rooftop bar and restaurant. Pedro waited on me, and he is an absolute sweetheart. We shared stories, laughed, and instantly connected. I loved his energy and personality, and I’m sure you will too. That man deserves a raise and all the finer things life has to offer. The location is great as well—about a 6-minute walk from Old Street Station and a 13-minute walk from Moorgate Station, making it easy to get around London.
