About The Leonard Hotel

Two centuries of London townhouse architecture form the backbone of The Leonard Hotel, a 49-room property on Seymour Street in Marylebone. The period façade gives way to interiors that mix traditional character with modern comforts, and the scale stays intimate rather than block-booked and corporate.

Rooms are generally spacious, and some are set up as apartments with proper kitchens, useful for longer stays or anyone who wants to cook rather than eat out every night. Bathrooms have been updated with modern fittings, including bidets in several rooms. Air conditioning and free WiFi are standard throughout, and the on-site restaurant and bar cover breakfast and evening meals without needing to leave the building. A garden, lift access, concierge and business services round out the practical side, and free on-site parking is a genuine rarity this close to central London. It's worth noting that a small number of stays have flagged mice as an issue, so it isn't a completely spotless record.

The staff are consistently described as friendly and willing to help with local recommendations, and the location itself does a lot of the work: Baker Street and Regent's Park are both within easy reach, with plenty of pubs, restaurants and other eateries scattered around the surrounding streets.

Recently went to The Leonard Hotel for Afternoon Tea as part of a Groupon voucher promotion. The hotel is very easy to find located within a short walk to Marble Arch tube station and Hyde Park. The hotel itself is very quiet and well kept with lots of period character. I attended in May 2026 and unfortunately the main restaurant was having renovation works however they had prepared a small dining area for us to sit in. Pleasant music and artwork in the walls with air conditioning too as was very hot outside. The afternoon tea itself was basic but well presented with a small selection of sandwiches and cakes. The scones were warm which was great and there was a large pot of delicious think strawberry jam and clotted cream as well as some strawberries and raspberries. Also came with a glass of champagne and excellent English breakfast tea. The staff were very kind and helpful. Cannot comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay however as the location is very convenient being so close to central London and the overall feel of the hotel seemed very good with nice towels in the bathrooms, I would imagine the accommodation to be of a good standard too.

Hotel was expensive and most of the ground floor was under renovation. My room was comfortable but carpet trims sticking up leaking tap. TV didn't work etc but air con was excellent and thats all I needed. The staff were super helpful at check-in and the renovation work is hopefully completed soon. ..shouldn't have been charged full rate while work was happening though.

Finally a real hotel with real rooms and proper guest services. I got fed up of scraping the barrel of 'budget' London hotels with no character, no furniture, and no bloody room. The Leonard is not cheap, but it is not overpriced. I am so pleased to have found this place. The room I had was very spacious, with functioning air conditioning and even a bath (luxury this day and age!). Very nicely decorated, with antique accent tables and nice wallpaper - no LED lights in sight. The television was even disguisable in a cupboard. The staff were all charming and extremely helpful, I didn't see any of the housekeeping staff but they deserve congratulations for keeping the place spotless, despite some renovations ongoing in the reception area - looking forward to seeing it completed. Breakfast was served promptly and was just what I needed, though some guests may be disappointed with the lack of a big fry-up, I was not.

Our stay at The Leonard Hotel was nothing short of amazing. Every staff member we encountered made our stay feel incredibly comfortable, welcoming, and memorable. We stayed in one of the older rooms, and it was absolutely full of character. You could truly see and feel the history within the space, which added such a unique charm to our experience. The bed was also extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax after long days exploring London. A very special thank you to Sarah, who made our stay exceptional with her kindness and accommodations throughout our visit. Her hospitality genuinely stood out and made us feel so cared for especially with little ones. The connection we shared with her along with the other staff members are ones we will never forget. Another huge plus was the location. Shopping on Oxford Street was extremely accessible, and there were so many wonderful eateries and cafés nearby. This is an incredibly walkable area, which made exploring London so convenient and enjoyable. We truly look forward to staying here again on our next visit. You won’t be disappointed! 🩷 from The Kerrs!
