About The Z Hotel Covent Garden
Bedford Street sits right in the thick of Covent Garden, with restaurants, pubs and theatres all within easy walking distance, and this is where The Z Hotel Covent Garden has made its home. It's a spot built for exploring London on foot, with transport links close by for when you want to venture further.
Rooms are modern and well kept, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and drinks available in-room, though space is at a premium and some rooms are genuinely small, so this suits guests who want a base for exploring rather than a room to spend the day in. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and the hotel provides breakfast, a snack bar, and a bar on site, including complimentary wine and cheese evenings. Free WiFi, a lift, luggage storage and laundry service cover the practical side of things. There's no parking at the property, so it suits those arriving by train, tube or on foot.
Staff are noted for being friendly and helpful, which counts for a lot in a busy central location like this. With Covent Garden's restaurants, pubs and entertainment all on the doorstep, it works well as a compact, central London stay for anyone prioritising location over square footage.

What guests say
I had a wonderful stay at The Z Hotel Covent Garden. The rooms and bathroom were very clean and well maintained, which made the stay comfortable and relaxing. The air conditioning was also excellent—we were very happy with it, especially after long days out in the city. The staff were very nice, friendly, and accommodating throughout our visit. The location is excellent—very central and close to everything in Covent Garden, including shops, restaurants, and major attractions. Despite being in such a busy area, the hotel felt very safe and secure at all times. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I've stayed at Z Hotels before, so knew what I was getting into with regard to the size and compactness. My review is based on my particular one-night experience in this hotel. We arrived to a construction zone, and were told that due to the construction, the AC wasn't working quite as well usual. But we were assured that it was working, and they had put a fan in the room to help. I should have backed out then and there. As it turns out, the AC was making no difference in the room, and the provided fan blew almost no air. We would have moved to a different room, but we were a family of 4 in a family room, and there weren't others available. The staff did find a better fan, but we nevertheless spent the night in an 80F/27C+ degree room with no windows. It was hotter than the hallways, which were hotter than the outside. To make matters worse, the upper bunk in the family room is walled off with glass to prevent falls. So no air circulated up top. The whole family was miserable. Z Hotel should have gotten way ahead of this, and moved folks to neighboring locations (the Strand location is 3 blocks away), or been more transparent and offered a discount. Instead, we paid full price for an awful experience.

Sal at the front desk made our experience exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely had our best interests at heart. His positive energy and friendly attitude made us feel comfortable and valued. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and it was clear that he truly cares about the guests. Thank you, Sal, for your outstanding service ,you made our stay even better!

Rooms barely big enough for 1 person. 2 people is pushing it and letting 4 people in one room is criminal. There are little things that can easily need improved upon. 1 - the bathroom “walls” are completely see through and in direct view of the bed. The bed is the ONLY place to be inside the room so its not great. Frost that wall, it’s an easy fix. 2- there is no where to put clothes and the hooks on the wall were broken and the hangers wouldn’t stay put. It was obnoxious, fix the hooks and add more storage. 3- The beds were complete garbage. I’ve never slept on a worse bed. It was as hard as a plank of wood. 4- The latch was broken on our window so we had to rig it with a fingernail clipper to open it. Keep up on these maintenance items. The AC didn’t work great & after 1 person showers the room turns into a wet sauna. My glasses wouldn’t un-fog. Opening the window was a must. 5- The lighting in the room & bathroom was terrible and cast so many shadows. The location of this hotel is great & the room was very clean. I can deal with a small room but these other fixable issues are the deal breaker for me. My experience with the staff was ok. I don’t think they were overly friendly but they weren’t rude. I just assumed it was a culture difference that I wasn’t used to. It was nice to have a quick breakfast in the lobby. I think it was 16$ a person.
