About The Z Hotel Strand

Steps from Charing Cross and surrounded by the pubs, bars and restaurants that cluster around the Strand, The Z Hotel Strand puts guests within easy walking distance of central London's theatres, riverside and transport links. It's the kind of base that suits people who want to drop their bags and be out exploring within minutes, whether that's an evening at a nearby restaurant or a short hop across town by train.

Rooms are compact but carefully designed, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi as standard, plus drinks available in room. Despite the busy location, the soundproofing keeps things noticeably quiet, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. A lift serves all floors, and there's luggage storage and a laundry service for guests on longer stays or tight schedules.

Downstairs, the on-site bar is a popular spot, and members can enjoy complimentary cheese and wine. Staff are consistently described as attentive and helpful, adding a personal touch that stands out given the hotel's central, high-traffic setting. For the price, it offers strong value for anyone wanting to be right in the middle of London without paying for excess space or frills.

It was very good and as described. I wanted a 5 min walk from the Royal opera house.. I got that. Clean and good reception for a late night cup of tea or drink/snack. Rooms, (mine was the windowless type) was very specious enough for one. Very comfy mattress (double) and pillows. Very good big towels in the shower room. All so seemed clean and safe. Only tiny bug bear was the tiny green night light - so the room isn’t pitch black. If I use again, I’ll bring an eye mask. For London it was reasonable value. Booked via Booking.com

Even better than expected, it is small rooms but not so small that it is a issue. The room was clean, the bed nice and window with view to the street. Room cleaned every 2nd day, and that is no problem. Got electric curtain for the window and a master panel for all lights, looks like it had a upgrade not long ago. And the AC is working perfect! Great location If you dont need a large room, this is recomended! Really good sound proofing of the room also

Stayed with my 14yr old daughter to see SIX the musicals. Wanted somewhere close to the theatre so we didn't have to walk far late at night. Couldn't get any closer, 2mins walk!! Loved the room, yes it's compact, but for what we wanted perfect. Bathroom is in the room, quite literally, nicely fitted out though and good shower. Staff were all lovely. Missed the wine and cheese as we packed too much on before the show and was in a rush! 😂😂 Didn't eat here, but they do basic food and breakfast. Plenty of places to eat on the doorstep though, really nice pastry shop couple of doors down. Excellent value for money. Bed was big and comfy, TV in room too.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was immediately welcomed by the front desk with a warm and friendly smile. The reception team went above and beyond to please every guest—they were incredibly respectful, fun, and engaging to talk to. The rooms, while basic, were spotless—every corner was extremely clean and taken care of. Location was amazing. Overall, the staff made me feel right at home, and I can’t recommend this place enough for its genuine hospitality.
