About Travelodge London Farringdon

Two hundred and eighteen rooms spread over six floors make Travelodge London Farringdon a sizeable base near King's Cross, with rates that shift between roughly £35 and £150 depending on demand. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option to upgrade to a SuperRoom, and the building includes accessible rooms, a lift and 24 hour reception for late or early arrivals.

There's a bar and restaurant on site along with breakfast service, and drinks are available in the room for anyone settling in for the evening. Pets are welcome, and chargeable on-site parking can be arranged by registering a vehicle at reception. Reports on housekeeping consistency vary, and some rooms pick up street noise, so a quieter room is worth requesting if that matters to you.

Staff are generally described as helpful, and the central location keeps things practical, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries all within easy reach nearby. For the price, it works well as a straightforward, no-frills stopover in central London rather than a destination in itself.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. I stayed there for two nights for a work trip and when I arrived I have already noticed that the hotel was not very clean. Weird small at the entrance, hallways very dirty and needing some vacuuming. My room was decent for London standards, even spacious. But still lacking some cleaning, you could notice some marks on the carpet and sheets. Some dust as well. I spent the first night there and notice some bites which I suspected came from bed bugs. I requested a room change, which they did. However, even more marks showed up after the second night. While checking out the person working at the reception kind of suggested that it was my fault, which was clearly not. Very disappointing experience, I would definitely not recommend staying there. Also, there is no free wifi (only 30 minutes per day, otherwise you need to pay), no hand towel, no hairdryer.

I don’t get the negative reviews! I’ve been to London over a dozen times in the past 15 years and all of the affordable accommodations I’ve stayed in were way worse than this. It’s close to St Pancras, perfect if you’re arriving by train. Bus stop is just outside the hotel. We were warmly welcomed at check-in and in general staff was friendly. The rooms and the breakfast, restaurant and bar area have recently been renovated and look great. Beds are comfortable though a bit on the hard side. Blackout curtains worked well. We booked the SuperRoom Double and I love that we had AC, two pillows each, a fridge, coffee machine and even complimentary KitKats - which we regifted since we’re vegan. On the 2nd floor we could barely hear or feel the underground. For a couple quid extra you can pick your room to make sure you don’t sleep at a lower level, and to sleep on the quiet side, not facing the street. The breakfast buffet has many vegan options: two types of Alpro yoghurt, vegan sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, vegan pancakes, almond and oat milk. The restaurant serves meals until 10pm and bites and pizzas until 4am, with plenty of vegan options as well. One point of critique: my father and sister in law were staying in a twin room on the 5th floor and there the doors don’t have a soft close mechanism meaning they were rudely awoken at night every time came in or left as the door slammed shut. On the 2nd floor the doors closed way more quietly.

I think this place is decent. Rooms and beds are comfortable enough. It's fairly convenient. For a cheap hotel by London standards it's ok. It lost a star for me because they charge for wifi and charge to hold your luggage. The shower doesn't really get hot and the pressure sucks. You can hear the tube or something fairly consistently at night, if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs.

For central London the room size is good, bed size just acceptable. Air conditioning was a life saver during the hot few days we spent there. The downstairs staff/reception/bar are more than helpful, but the room staff are slow and almost non existent. Didn't provide enough toilet rolls and didn't replenish towels regardless of leaving instruction. I probably would return due to how friendly the downstairs staff were to us.
