What diners say
I had been meaning to dine at Saint Jacques for years and finally made it there last week. I enjoyed it so much that I booked another table immediately and have now been twice in the space of two weeks. There are several reasons I'll be returning. First, the quality of the classic French dishes is exceptional. Second, the wine list offers excellent traditional choices without being overpriced as often the case in St James and Mayfair. Third, the garden is wonderfully relaxed and charming that makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The service on my second visit felt a little more rushed and less personal, although the team remained warm and welcoming despite being extremely busy. My first visit, however, was truly memorable thanks to the outstanding hospitality of the sommelier, Charlie. His knowledge, enthusiasm and genuine warmth elevated the entire evening and were one of the main reasons we returned so quickly. A wonderful neighbourhood restaurant that delivers classic French dining at a very high standard.

I wanted to come here for a long time but never managed. Today I decided to go in my own and hoped to bag a table in the amazing little courtyard they have at the back. I booked, and, when I arrived, the courtyard was fully booked, but they promised to move me there once a table had finished. I ordered the scallops, and the cheese soufflé to start with. Before they arrived, they brought me fresh bread with a very good butter, together with my Perrier mineral water. To go with the starters I was given the great advise to pair them with a Riesling, a very good choice, as it was a perfect match with both. I then had the halibut, which was paired with a white burgundy, another perfect match. This main was also great, perfectly cooked and very well balanced . Lastly, I had the Crepes Suzette, a dessert I love, but it isn’t easily found in London ( or even in Paris ). The end was a Grand Marnier on the rocks. The prefect ending to a a perfect meal . The service was very good throughout the whole meal, plus they did manage to move me to a table outside as soon as it became free. Little great touches like this are so rare those days, therefore I am delighted to have finally discovered this gem of a place ! I highly recommend it.

A great experience meant to be shared with friends, the food was very nice with a lot of options for people with different preferences. The private dining area made it very easy to host a larger group. Would recommend going again when in town.
