The Rose Pub

A traditional pub that's been upgraded to provide an excellent range of food. The Rose is situated on the Albert Embankment, running alongside of the Thames. It has a pleasant view that includes the Houses of Parliament, but this is often blocked by the trees on the opposite pavement. The pub itself is quite cosy, and it can get a bit noisy when everyone is talking. The decor is really special, and it shows that the owners take considerable pride in their premises. The food can work out a bit more expensive than you might find elsewhere, but I found it tasty, really well cooked, with a wide variety of items to please most people. I could fault the service; staff were moving about making sure that everyone was well attended. The drinks are also impressive; they have a decent wine selection, and some very good real ale. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping to check out.

Such a great new addition to Vauxhall! I loved having lunch here, the atmosphere is beautiful, the staff were welcoming, and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Top tier Sunday roast, drinks and service. The beef was really well done. One bit of constructive criticism, the live music on a Sunday is really loud and makes conversation difficult

I've attended a couple of engagement parties/birthdays here and recently hosted our engagement party ourselves here in the upstairs room. Beautiful big windows looking out over the river with views parliament and Big Ben in the background. I can't recommend it enough! The space is such a good size (good square room, with private bar and toilet for your guests). We had about 50 people standing which was perfect for the size of the room. Adrian was our wonderful bartender who looked after us all night and made sure everything was running smoothly and on time for us (served out all the prosecco for us, fixed the microphones for speech, music system to plug your phone into) - thank you Adrian! The canapés are great with a mix of meat/veggie/vegan options - really tasty and kept our guests sufficiently fed. We were able to set up from 4pm for the evening before guests started arriving. We decorated with some balloons, extra candles, some signage (and left the balloons behind at the end of the night as the staff kindly said they would deal with those for us)! We had lots of comments on what a great space it is so for the price we paid (£150 rental fee and £1,500 minimum spend). I couldn't recommend it more.
