What visitors say
Such a beautiful campsite, with stunning views we stayed with our two small children and our dog. The grounds were beautifully maintained, Joe was super helpful with providing us with some local recommendations of where to explore and where to eat with kids. The kids loved being able to see the cows milked, and we were surrounded by sheep in the nearby fields and two beautiful horses. There is a great quick walk up the hill at the back of the site which is great to do with kids, big reward for little effort. The views from the site are stunning and we loved that it was a small site, so it would never be too busy. It also seems to have its own micro-climate so although forecast was rain everyday we had sun most days!

We had another absolutely fab stay at Shepherd’s Crag Camping! This time with our family. We have been before as a couple and loved the peaceful surroundings but we must say it was amazing for children. One of the biggest highlights was our evening walk on the crag at sunset. A perfect way to run off energy before bedtime and absolutely stunning views!! Our children loved seeing the cows in the morning and being close to the farm. It’s a perfect location - we visited both the lakes and the dales easily! The campsite is lovely and small so feels extremely safe for little legs to explore!! Can’t wait to go back and book their amazing safari tent!! Thank you Joe and family for a wonderful stay!

We had the most incredible stay at Shepherds Crag Glamping. The safari tent was beautifully thought out – every detail covered, from the cosy layout to the well-equipped kitchenette and tables and lovely finishing touches. It felt like everything had been designed with care and comfort. The shelving and lighting and rugs were all perfect. You only need to bring yourselves and some clothes! The whole site is run with a clear eco-conscious ethos, which we really appreciated – it felt like luxury without the waste. The bathrooms were spotless, super cute, close to the tents and with beautiful toiletries that made it feel really special! The suggested walk from Joe were perfect – well-chosen and easy to follow, making it so simple to explore the surrounding area. And those views… absolutely breathtaking. We felt so looked after and will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a gorgeous weekend- so perfect
