What visitors say

Alice in Reality

Lovely museum with lots of interesting information about and artefacts from Lyme Regis and its varying history and famous visitors. A big thank you to the staff, especially Lizzie, my mum is visually impaired and low mobility, Lizzie was very kind and understanding as well as knowledgeable about the local area. There’s a lift to the first floor as well which was great as my mum struggles with stairs. Also your ticket lasts a year, so you can return as many times as you like on one ticket 🥰

The museum is well laid out and has very informative displays covering a wide range of artefacts and human interest stories regarding the history of Lyme Regis as well as Mary Anning and Paleontology. The museum also offers workshops and trails for children. We attended an excellent talk on the author John Fowels. The museum has guided tours of the town by local people. We attended a historical walk with Fred on the various films shot in Lyme Regis. Which was very interesting and an excellent way to learn about Lyme. Highly recommend a visit.

Right next to the sea in Lyme Regis. The museum is inside a house that has been adapted to accommodate the various exhibit rooms. There are a number of items unique to Lyme Regis and it's past, as well as focussed on Mary Anning and her fossil finds. The staff are very welcoming too.
