About Lyme Townhouse
Lyme Townhouse occupies a beautifully restored Grade II listed building on Pound Street, in the heart of the old town. Its seven bedrooms are each individually decorated, mixing whitewashed walls, antique furniture and crisp white linen with large sash windows that flood the rooms with light.
A cooked-to-order breakfast is served each morning, and the location puts guests within a short, easy walk of the high street's independent shops, the seafront and The Cobb. The property has built a strong reputation for personal service from its owner-managers since opening.
Its small scale and central position make it a favourite for couples wanting a boutique feel without the size or formality of a larger hotel, and it books up quickly for summer weekends.

What guests say
Staff were so friendly and went out of their way to provide exceptional service. It really felt like we were visiting friends, rather than staying at a guesthouse. Thr room was beautiful, comfortable and had very good amenities. The location was perfect, with fantastic views and a beautiful walk through the gardens to the beachfront. Cannot recommend enough

Great location, lovely breakfast, comfy bed, nice facilities in the room, however if you’re a menopausal woman just be mindful that there is poor airflow especially in room one. I was unable to open a window to get any fresh air, the heating was on full blast, no fan and poor air circulation in the en-suite. I know it’s a beautiful old building but a fan or some air conditioning would have been a nice addition, not sure how on earth you’d manage in the summer months as we stayed in March.

Our family stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my 60th birthday in August 2025. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for going above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. The extra little touches in the rooms such as freshly homemade lemon drizzle cake, a decanter of mead and a selection of great teas and coffees as well as great quality biscuits. They even gave me a bottle champagne and a birthday card. Would highly recommend this hotel for first class facilities and service. Will definitely return.

Even from our one-night stay, it was clear that the team at Lyme Townhouse were exceptional. Jo and Diane were delightful, welcoming and truly put in every effort to make our stay feel special. They even helped us celebrate a birthday! The room had everything we needed and the breakfast was delicious.
