Alexandra Hotel and Restaurant

Well, they say you get what you pay for and in this case you certainly do. Our room was 15 and a weekend stay . On arrival we were greeted at the door by Joe, he was so friendly and very helpful, carrying our luggage to the room and then showing us around the hotel and grounds. The room, on the 2nd floor, no lift was very clean and spacious with stunning views over Lyme Bay. The beds were extremely comfortable. Dinner - Mica greeted us and seated us at our table. Very attentive. The food was excellent, well cooked and well presented. Breakfast was also excellent with ample variety of pastries and croissants cereal and fruit along with an Al A Carte cooked to order hot breakfast. All food locally sourced- excellent The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Some might consider the room price expensive but for the service and quality we thought it worth it and would definitely return

We've stayed at the Alexandra a few times now, and it's become our go-to weekend retreat. What stands out against so many other hotels- luxury or not- is the staff. Everyone you encounter is cheerful and friendly, and goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The restaurant manages to be smart and relaxed at the same time, and the food is beautiful. Breakfast is equally good and cooked to order. The building is old, and the layout and rooms reflect this, but the beds are always so comfortable, and the views are terrific.

My mum and I stayed here for one night and it was such a treat! The hotel’s location is amazing, set in a beautiful garden just above the prom in Lyme. The staff were so professional and lovely, and the hotel has such a great independent feel. The drinks and desert we had from the bar were fab, and the brekky was delish! Such buttery croissants. The bed was also sooo comfy and there was beautiful bathroom products

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay at The Alexandria Hotel. From the very moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, each and every one of them go that extra mile. The beautiful lounge was relaxing and spacious with wide windows to catch the spectacular views across the gardens and Lyme Bay itself. The bedroom was immaculate and so comfortable, I slept like a log. Bathroom again immaculate and roomy, with excellent toiletries. The food was out of this world. You could see that everything was cooked and presented with real passion and flair. The Orangery Restaurant was busy, which wasn't at all surprising, but it was a relaxed atmosphere, unhurried and expertly guided by the unintrusive staff. Breakfasts were a fantastic choice, covering everyone's taste. I enjoyed smoked haddock with poached egg one morning and a full English breakfast my second day. Both were delicious. My friend enjoyed her yogurts and fruits and sourdough toast. The whole hotel has a country house feel and the owners have ensured the history and elegance of the building is given full justice with their choice of furnishings and decor.
