About Rock House Hotel

Rock House Hotel is a small, self-contained hotel set directly between Lynmouth's historic harbour and its pebble beach, holding eight en suite bedrooms above a restaurant, bar and private dining room. Its position gives most rooms a direct outlook over the water where the East Lyn River meets the sea.

The restaurant and bar operate as a destination in their own right for both residents and passing visitors, serving a straightforward, seasonally changing menu that draws on the same local seafood supply as its harbourside neighbours.

A four-minute walk from the lower station of the cliff railway and a similarly short drive from the Valley of the Rocks, Rock House suits visitors who want to be at the centre of Lynmouth's harbour life without needing a car for evenings out.

We booked 3 rooms with The Rock bringing all the family. We had a super time, rooms were spotlessly clean, the breakfasts were excellent, we also had dinner there on the one evening which was delicious and plenty of it. The whole family had a wonderful 3 night stay. Highly recommend and we will be coming back. The New people who took over end of 2025 are doing a fantastic job. All the staff were polite, professional and nothing was too much trouble

My Wife and I stayed recently for a couple nights at the Rock. We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The pub & reception area is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, really nice vibe about the place due to its location. This cleanliness and theme followed through to the rooms which we found to be fantastic. We had a great view of the sea which was literally right next to our window. Our breakfast in the morning was fantastic, with all good quality produce use, really enjoyed it. There are two evening menu's on offer, traditional pub & Thai. We opted for Thai and haft to say it was at a very good restaurant quality, all freshly cooked and very taste. Couldn't fault the Rock, will definitely stay again for sure 👍

5* in every respect. Garry and Pam took over at the end of 2025 and have already done a fantastic job updating the decor. We couldn't fault their hospitality and the service was exceptional and room beautiful. They really care about the community they're business is part of which really means a lot. We only stayed one night on the second day of our South West Coast Path Adventures but we'll definitely be back. The area is really worth staying longer in, and Rock House would make the perfect base.
