About Eco Retreats
Eco Retreats sets three private Mongolian yurts - Meadow, Ash Valley and River - across fifty acres of woodland within a much larger 1,300-acre organic working farm in the Dyfi Forest, around seven miles from Machynlleth. Reached down a track some twenty-five minutes off the tarred road, the site is deliberately remote and entirely off-grid, with no wifi and no mobile signal in most spots.
Each yurt has its own wood-burning stove, cooking area and private outdoor wood-fired bath, along with a fresh springwater shower and an open-air campfire cooking zone, giving guests genuine self-sufficiency within a comfortable, well-equipped canvas structure. The setting is built around dark, starry night skies, birdsong and the surrounding organic farmland, with walking and mountain biking routes accessible directly from the site.
Eco Retreats suits couples and families who want a proper wilderness escape rather than a conventional glamping holiday, and its combination of comfort and genuine remoteness has made it a distinctive, well-reviewed alternative to Machynlleth's more conventional hotels and B&Bs.

Such a peaceful and remote space with a really well equipped yurt. You often forget it is off grid because of how luxurious it feels and how cosy it is. Perfect place for a weekend getaway to slow down a bit and watch the lambs hop around! Great access for Dyfi forest mountain biking and Coed y Brenin about 30 minutes away.

I recently stayed at Eco Retreat in Wales, and it was an absolutely beautiful experience. The location is stunning, with scenic views that immediately make you feel at peace. I highly recommend Eco Retreat for anyone seeking a tranquil and refreshing escape in nature. It’s a pretty nice spot for some much-needed rest and rejuvenation.

Eco Retreats has been my favourite weekend away yet. The views and landscape are absolutely breath-taking and certainly worth exploring. I would recommend staying here if you are in need of a total detox from every day life. I returned home feeling so refreshed.Thank you for the most wonderful stay.

Eco Retreats is simply stunning. The journey into the forests instantly separates you from the hectic part off life. Excellent communication on booking and prior to our arrival. We were very warmly welcomed by Margaret and shown to our accommodation. The yurt was well stocked, warm, cosy, clean and comfortable. The outside bath was fabulous. The stillness and calm cannot fail to detox you and make you feel alive again. The walks into the hills are fabulous especially for twitchers. We've stayed twice in the last couple of months. Angus Margaret and Ash make the running of this place look seamless. Thank you for this wonderful place.
