About Cil Y Coed
Tucked away on a family farm in rural Mid Wales, Cil y Coed offers a single glamping pod that feels genuinely remote without being too far from civilisation. The wooden pod sleeps up to four (double bed plus sofa bed), with underfloor heating, a well-equipped kitchen corner, ensuite bathroom, and private decking overlooking Powys countryside – though you'll need to bring your own towels and bedding.
The location strikes a nice balance: fifteen minutes' drive gets you either to Machynlleth's market-town amenities or the edge of Eryri National Park. The farm setting means proper peace and quiet, with fields and trees all around and campfires allowed for atmospheric evenings. It's a genuinely secluded spot that works well for couples or small families wanting an off-grid feel with creature comforts, though bear in mind pets aren't permitted.

Lovely walk. Choose between 2 walks. Both fairly easy. Pretty stream and small waterfall at bottom. Nice and cool walk for the dogs on a hot day.

We really enjoyed bringing the dog here. Beautiful mature woodland with two trails to follow. We came back with our swimming gear and swam with the dog in the pool at the base of the waterfall. It was 30 degrees so the cold water was refreshing, it may not be so at other times of the year

Nice easy walk through the Forest. There are 2 well marketed trails, which join together after a short distance. We took the green route. It was very short, less than an hour. It started up hill and then came down to the river, up a little and then down the road back to the parking lot. Well maintained path. Good car park with toilets. Several picnic tables at the start and along the path.

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a child with my family on the way back from our hikes. The car park is wonderful to stop in for a stove cooked dinner (or breakfast in my case) they have an ample selection of picnic tables which are level enough to balance your camping stove. They also have really wonderful toilets which are wood panelled. There are two walks which both don’t take too long. It’s just a really great spot !
