About Dyfi Forest Retreats
Tucked into a wooded hillside deep in the Dyfi Forest, this off-grid cabin retreat offers proper escape just 15 minutes from Machynlleth. The accommodation sleeps two to four, with a king-size bed, woodburner for warmth, and a covered porch complete with gas barbecue—handy when Welsh weather turns. Outside, there's a hot shower, washing-up area, private garden with firepit, and views that stretch across the treetops.
Mountain bikers are spoiled: the Climachx Trail runs practically past the door, and Dyfi Bike Park is a quarter-hour away. Eryri National Park, wild swimming at glacial Llyn Mwyngil, and Aberdyfi's beaches are all within reach. But this spot rewards those who simply stay put. Wildlife wanders through, and once darkness falls, minimal light pollution reveals the Milky Way in full glory—bring binoculars. The lack of mains electricity means torches for night-time wanderings, though renewable power keeps essentials ticking over. A peaceful, starlit hideaway.

What visitors say
Such a peaceful and remote space with a really well equipped yurt. You often forget it is off grid because of how luxurious it feels and how cosy it is. Perfect place for a weekend getaway to slow down a bit and watch the lambs hop around! Great access for Dyfi forest mountain biking and Coed y Brenin about 30 minutes away.

I recently stayed at Eco Retreat in Wales, and it was an absolutely beautiful experience. The location is stunning, with scenic views that immediately make you feel at peace. The tents are comfortable and well-maintained, providing a cozy atmosphere. What I loved most about Eco Retreat is how quiet and serene it is. It’s the perfect getaway for anyone looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the whole place has a very nice, relaxed vibe. I highly recommend Eco Retreat for anyone seeking a tranquil and refreshing escape in nature. It’s a pretty nice spot for some much-needed rest and rejuvenation.

Eco Retreats is simply stunning. The journey into the forests instantly separates you from the hectic part off life. Excellent communication on booking and prior to our arrival. We were very warmly welcomed by Margaret and shown to our accommodation. The yurt was well stocked, warm, cosy, clean and comfortable. The outside bath was fabulous. The stillness and calm cannot fail to detox you and make you feel alive again. The walks into the hills are fabulous especially for twitchers. We've stayed twice in the last couple of months. Angus Margaret and Ash make the running of this place look seamless. Thank you for this wonderful place.
