About Brown Moor Farm
Tucked on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds – that quieter cousin to the Dales and North York Moors – Brown Moor Farm is an organic working farm where sheep graze and free-range hens peck about. The south-east-facing camping field catches lovely sunrises, and footpaths at the bottom of the dale link up to the Wolds Way for walkers or cyclists keen to explore the rolling chalkland countryside. Facilities are straightforward: a daily-cleaned toilet block, fresh water, and waste disposal, though there's no hot water and pitches can be uneven underfoot, so come prepared with decent footwear and a torch for the properly dark nights.
Dogs are welcome on leads, barbecues are allowed (raised off the grass), and the whole setup suits those after a peaceful, no-frills escape. Several pubs lie within a few miles, while Malton – fifteen minutes by car – offers more eating and shopping options if you need to stock up.

What visitors say
Stayed for 1 night whilst out on my motorbike. Can honestly say this place is a gem. No thrills but everything you need for camping. Clean toilets and decent shower. Lovely and quiet. Will definitely be returning in the future. I only met Christine and the 2 dogs. For a campsite I was made to feel like family sort of thing. See you again soon

My second stay at South Moor Farm in my van. Dog friendly. Toilets and showers. Lovely spot just outside Dalby Forest barriers. Beautiful walks direct from site. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go again.

Stayed on the campsite. Very knowledgeable owners of the vicinity. Very helpful and intuitive. Love Doris and Agnes their two wonderful and very calm dogs Lovely surrounding, too good a value at the prices charged. Facilities were spot on. Great walks around - although I dont cycle.. better views and areas in the forest are through tracks dedicated to bikes. Highly recommend... although want to keep it my little secret

It's absolutely brilliant of you want peace and quiet. Miles away from anything, no shops , no pubs no people... Just you , your tent and silence..
