About AC Hotel Manchester City Centre by Marriott

Breakfast is worth setting an alarm for at AC Hotel Manchester City Centre by Marriott, with a wide spread that regularly draws praise, while the bar downstairs makes for an easy spot to unwind after a day exploring the city. The on-site restaurant covers the rest of the day's dining, so there's little need to head out unless you want to.

The 172 rooms are clean and modern, with comfortable beds and decent showers in the en-suite bathrooms. Air conditioning, free WiFi, drinks in room and family rooms are all available, and the hotel spans nine floors served by a lift. A gym, meeting rooms and business services suit those combining work with the stay, and staff are generally welcoming and professional, though service has occasionally been reported as inconsistent.

Set on Mason Street, the hotel puts Ancoats, the Northern Quarter, NOMA and Manchester Victoria within easy reach, along with plenty of nearby restaurants, pubs and shops. There's no on-site parking, so it suits guests arriving by train or on foot rather than by car.

I recently hosted an all-day event for 25 people at the AC Hotel by Marriott Manchester City Centre, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. A special thank you to Param, the Sales Manager, and the rest of the team, who were incredibly welcoming, professional and accommodating throughout the planning process and on the day itself. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Most of our attendees stayed overnight, and the hotel did a fantastic job looking after everyone. The lunch provided during the event was excellent, and breakfast the following morning was very good too. The location is another huge plus, with plenty of great restaurants and bars just a short walk away, making it ideal for both business events and overnight stays. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the AC Hotel by Marriott Manchester City Centre and will definitely keep them in mind for any future meetings or conferences. Thank you again to Param and the whole team for making our event such a success!

I was extremely disappointed in my experience here. The photos made the hotel look new, modern, and clean. For a four star hotel, I expected some semblance of customer service. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we received no assistance with our baggage (not even holding the door open for us, since the revolving door was out of order). The room was fine, but the shower design was horrendous, impossible to use without getting water everywhere. I noticed visible grime at the bottom and in the sink. The bed was hard as a rock and I had the worst night of sleep in recent memory. Although our room was “upgraded,” there was still significant road noise and bass from a nearby club. The blackout curtains were great. The staff at the bar/restaurant was friendly and one redeeming quality. When we tried to order food to the room, we were told we had to come downstairs to get it. The same story for ice. The location is convenient, but there were a number of tents just outside. Overall, this hotel is simply not four stars and is not worth the price they charged. I would not recommend.

As mentioned by others, it doesn't quite hit the 4 star mark. Breakfast is nice but it could still be better with more variety. Toiletries offered in the room could be better. The staff were amazing- welcoming, polite and professional. The location is within walking distance to trams and shops/market place. Overall a good place to stay

the staff have something against their guests. Let me explain, I asked to pay for breakfast at 10:30 and they simply just told me they closed, didn’t offer to charge me and allow me and my hungry girl to have a meal. We would’ve been quick and taken it to our room even if that made it easier but we were starving, hadn’t eaten since yesterday at lunch. This is very unprofessional, to make things worse, the looks they give you when you walk through the kitchen after 10:30 is awful. Very bad behavior. I stayed at the old trafford yesterday and they were much more pleasant, they gave free water and snacks at night when it was late and I was thirsty, they smiled and were extremely friendly, I enjoyed England for the first day because I stayed at the old trafford but here I hated it. Very disappointed with this hotel and their staff.
