About Manchester Marriott Victoria And Albert Hotel

Spinningfields and Deansgate are both within easy walking distance of Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, making it a practical base for exploring the city's shops, bars and restaurants, with entertainment and further eateries also close by. The hotel occupies a converted riverside building on Water Street, and its character shows in exposed beams, brick walls and views over the canal that give the place a distinct, historic feel rarely found in city-centre stays.

The 148 rooms are spacious and well kept, with modern en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and the option of family or accessible rooms. Breakfast combines a buffet with cooked-to-order dishes, and there's a restaurant and bar on site along with room service, drinks in the room, and packed lunches for those heading out early. A gym, business services and meeting rooms cater to those working as well as visiting, and staff are consistently helpful and friendly.

There's no parking available at the property, so anyone driving should plan ahead. The hotel can get lively with guests at times, but its riverside setting, characterful interiors and proximity to Manchester's main districts make it a solid choice for a city break.

Three friends and I stayed here for a night as we were going to see take that at the Manchester City ground. I’m not quite sure how this is 4 star, 3 star at best! ( I didn’t book this my friend did ) admittedly I usually stay at the Dakota when I’m Manchester, which is unfair because I compare but my goodness it’s poles apart. The reception was fine, friendly lady that checked us in. The room was grim, not clean, the bedding smelt odd like chlorine yet stale, also really small double beds. Grubby bathroom door, the bath had a couple of hairs in it. Numerous bodged filled holes in the ceiling. We had breakfast, This was ok, bacon incredibly fatty and salty, sausages not good but all the other foods on offer to be honest I thought were fine. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and polite, nothing against the staff whatsoever. Just not a great hotel.

Booked part of the hotel as a venue for a work event and the staff were superb - so helpful and attentive. Particularly want to shout out Daniel Wild, who was our main contact, and Charlie who helped us with all the tech bits patiently! Both of you were a joy. The venue itself was also great - kept really clean between sessions, so thank you to all the cleaning staff. The food was great too, morning pastries and lunch were both delicious. Providing we don't add to our staff count too much between now and our next work event, we'll definitely be back. Thank you again!
