The Castlefield Hotel

I had a wonderful stay here with my friend on the weekend. The room was clean, the beds were comfy and the room had a great shower. It was slightly disappointing that we had no access to streaming services such as netflix on the TV, and there weren’t available plugs for us connect any of our own devices. We used the leisure facilities in the morning and they were great. There were decent towels provided and tokens for lockers. The pool itself was nice but rather small, but again did the trick. There was also a lovely sauna. The hotel unfortunately doesn’t offer free parking, we had to pay £18. It was central enough to walk to places during our stay though, and the walk and views were pleasant.

Really light and spacious corner room overlooking the bowl. Comfy beds, good facilities, uncomplicated lighting arrangements (lights are on or off - no messing about with 18 light switches all over the room) 😂 Little bit noisy late evening with the windows open but they seal the sound out perfectly if you shut them. There are 2 layers of windows - maybe for concert nights. And it all supports the YMCA - perfect.

The hotel was cheap enough. I ended up paying £350 for three nights, from the 24th to the 27th, with checkout at 11am. The hotel was clean, the staff were welcoming, and the breakfast was good. It's close enough to the attractions and to the Hilton, where I had a conference, but far enough from the noise. Granted, I stayed when it was stupidly hot, and they could have provided an electric fan because it really was warm. If I were to be picky, I could complain about a hair in the bedsheets, but I didn't really sleep in the bed, mainly on top of the sheets due to the heat. All in all, the place was cheap and cheerful.

My partner and I had a great time staying here coming from Birmingham!!! First off the service from Denim was fantastic! She was warm and welcoming as soon as we got to the front desk. She told us about all the amenities that weren’t described on the booking which was a delightful surprise, helped us with all the parking details and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. Great location with a various activities and restaurants just a few minutes walk way. We’ll definitely be coming the next time we come up to Manchester!!! Thanks again Denim you rock!!!
