About The Bulls Head Hotel
The Bulls Head Hotel is a traditional pub-style hotel on London Road in Manchester, the kind of building where the bar comes first and the rooms sit above it. That downstairs character carries through the whole stay, with a proper English pub atmosphere, decent beer on tap and a lively buzz most evenings.
Rooms are straightforward and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom and the option of drinks brought up if you'd rather not head back down. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, and staff are on hand around the clock, though not every guest has found the service consistently helpful. Restaurants, bars and eateries are all close by if you fancy a change from the pub kitchen, and there's a golf course and entertainment nearby too.
The main draw for many is the location: right near Manchester's train station, making it an easy base for exploring the city or moving on elsewhere. It suits guests after a no-frills, sociable stay rather than a polished boutique experience.

What guests say
I'm a wheelchair user and it's difficult to find a room that is totally accessible, but this one is. Even has a fridge and fresh milk! The welcome is lovely and staff very helpful. The food is good, bit pricey but thats everywhere now. I stayed alone for 7 nights and could manage to get most places in hotel apart from breakfast but staff always brought me my order. I will be back...if they let me!

Had a booking here for 2 nights from 22nd-24th of June 2026. After getting delays on my train journey, finally arrived outside the hotel/pub at 21:00 on the 22nd of July, only to be going around in circles looking for a reception to a closed pub. There was a door that says ring the bell or call for hotel only. Rang them several times and tried banging the door, but no one answered. I was outside this pub-hotel for an hour. Left them a voicemail to call me back, emailed them, sent an instagram direct message and tried calling their instagram business account too, but nothing. It says check in is until 10:00pm. I went to hostel next door, and they said it should be open or at least someone should be picking up my calls. I had to book for another hotel nearby! Very bad service! Avoid this place! In addition to the above, I tried phoning again the next morning. No answer. Tried again in the PM, finally someone picked up saying that she’s busy and doesn’t have the phone on her all the time. She said when it’s quiet, they tend to leave early. But if you’re a business, you should answer calls, wait til they check in before you leave or at least call them back when they left a voicemail. She also claimed an email was sent to her and she can’t confirm who it’s from when I asked. The email states that I’m not coming. But she knows the booking hasn’t been cancelled. It’s all so unprofessional.

Amazing experience. The rooms were amazing, quiet and everything needed, great breakfast, the pub downstairs was the heart of the place with Lovely Dianne at the counter. The best part was the location, it is right on the entrence of Picadelly train station, and I cannot begin to express how experience changing that was for our trip in england and manchester specificlly. Felt like home, would definitly reccomend, not for luxury and 5 stars, but for everything you need down to the last details, with feeling of home, right at the heart of manchester.

Proper English pub. Lovely spot ideally located. Was in Manchester for 2 days last weekend and we visited there twice. Once for a few hours and once for a quick pint before getting a train to the airport. Highly recommend this spot.
