About The Westlynne Hotel & Apartments

Middleton Road sits within easy reach of Manchester city centre, and it's here that The Westlynne Hotel & Apartments occupies a Victorian building offering a relaxed, no-frills base for visiting the city. The setting is residential and unfussy, with free on-site parking a welcome bonus for anyone driving in rather than relying on the city's transport links, which are also close at hand.

Rooms are kept simple and functional, with en-suite bathrooms throughout, family rooms for those travelling with children, and accessible rooms available. Apartment-style options come with kitchens, useful for longer stays or anyone wanting to self-cater, while drinks in room and 24-hour reception add a bit of convenience. Outside, there's a picnic area and outdoor seating for guests who want a bit of fresh air without leaving the grounds.

A breakfast buffet and an on-site bar cover the basics of food and drink, and there are further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for those who want more choice. A golf course and entertainment options are also within reach, making this a straightforward, well-located spot for exploring Manchester without expecting anything more than reliable, affordable comfort.

On the plus Comfortable value for money hotel. Comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water and good pressure for the shower over bath. Free WiFi was good. Self serve pre order full breakfast was substantial and plenty of choice. Reception was very helpful with transport to city centre and suggestions for places to eat. Good location for AO Arena and avoiding busy city centre hotels traffic and parking. Tram station 10 min walk, £2.80 one way across 2 zones or Uber £9 one way even after midnight. Direct route from motorway to hotel and plenty of free parking. Minor observations - Room was warm even with radiator off. Had to open window, which unfortunately resulted in being woken early 6am by two residents holding a loud conversation outside before getting into their van. (Not hotel's fault). Parts of hotel could use a freshen up. Skirting and architrave in room could use some fresh paint. Cracks/water marks ceilings in bar and breakfast rooms and holes where down lighters missing.

Very average and not particularly accommodating. Old, dated, expensive when compared to other places. Other occupiers were pretty dodgy looking - smoking, drinking and also the smell of something illegal if you get my drift. Find something better.

Stayed in a standard double room for 1 night. Spotless, nice smelling, warm and cozy. Couldn’t fault it in any way. Comparable price-wise with the premier inn down the road but the standard is far higher. I would happily stay there again.

This is a beautiful hotel, our room was spotless & comfortable too. There is a very small bar in a lovely lounge downstairs & based solely on one visit they didn’t offer Jack Daniels or Brandy but lots of other choices. We didn’t order breakfast so can’t comment on that, but the set up looked good. It was a pleasant enough stay & I would recommend it
