Gilmilnscroft Estate - Gilmilnscroft Gatehouse

Gilmilnscroft Gatehouse sits within the grounds of Gilmilnscroft Estate, a sprawling property near the village of Sorn in East Ayrshire. The estate itself spans 80 acres of natural landscape—woodland, fields, and a pond—with paths threading through. From here, the countryside rolls toward the Isle of Arran, and you're within reach of the River Ayr Way, a network of walks through one of southern Scotland's most varied valleys.

The gatehouse is a detached building on ground floor level with one double bedroom, a shower room, and an open-plan living and dining space. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave and washing machine; the living room has a Freeview TV and CD player. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's a garden with sitting-out area, parking for two cars on site, and a bike store. The estate also has a shared summer house available to guests. A stream runs through the grounds about 25 yards from the property. The gatehouse sleeps four and is yours alone; one well-behaved dog is welcome. Children under 13 cannot stay here.

Sorn village has a pub within a mile. Dumfries House, a major East Ayrshire attraction, lies roughly 3 miles away. The Ayrshire Coastal Path, with over 100 miles of coastline, is also nearby for day trips.
