Herbie's Shepherd Hut sits at Shepherds Lodge Retreat & Wellness, a one-bedroom retreat positioned at the water's edge of an on-site lake. The area suits walkers and those drawn to the Melton countryside; the grounds themselves invite quiet mornings watching waterfowl. A wood-fired hot tub is yours alone to use, and there's a firepit and barbecue outside if you want to cook outdoors.

Inside is a compact, self-contained space on one level. The sleeping area has a double bed and Freeview TV; the ensuite holds a double shower and heated towel rail. The living space combines a sitting area with a kitchen fitted for basic cooking—two-ring hob, microwave, small fridge—and a dining zone. A wood burner provides warmth; underfloor heating runs throughout. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included, with initial fuel for the burner provided. Massage and holistic therapies can be arranged on site if wanted. Private parking fits two cars, and there's a bike store.

The property is adults-only and does not accept children under 12. An unfenced lake forms part of the grounds. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 11:00.
