What visitors say
Absolutely love this spot. I'd describe it as wild camping with composting toilets. That's it. If you're the kind of camper that needs a power point in the bathrooms to plug in your hair straighteners, this campsite is not for you. If you're the kind of people that want to kick back and immerse in nature, have a bit of a laugh with your mates or family, away from the noise and trappings of everyday life - this is a great spot. Beautiful short walk down to the river and the falls. Nice pub in the village, over the other side of the river, up the hill. They allow fires (which is a non negotiable for me - but so many capsites don't these days). Fire pits provided + basic cooking grate. Annie - the owner - is lovely (so is her dog!). She leaves you in peace but is there (house at the top) if you need anything like wood (fairly reasonably priced per single bag (not such good value compared to a barrow bag or something, but it saves having to drag that onto site) Only downside is how there's no potable water on site - however there's a publicly accessible tap about 10 mins walk away. Another downside - bit I fully understand the reasons - is no dogs. I'd have loved to have brought my dog - but that would have meant other dogs would have been allowed and some dogs might not be suitable for this area as there's a load of wildlife and wildstock nearby. All in all - a great campsite, loads of space, ancient woodland vibes.

We have just come back from a trip to Manor Grange and it was the best site we have been to. We loved the wild camping aspect of the place, it was so peaceful, and the location is perfect with a 5 minute walk down to Aysgarth Falls. Annie was an amazing hostess, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly….we are already planning our next visit. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and the views were just amazing!

Cool place to go. You actuallly camp in the St. Joseph's Memorial Woodland just below here on the way to the waterfalls. The only facilties on site are firepits and festival style compost toilets. There is no running water or electricity. You have to park your car near the train bridge and then take all your stuff in wheelbarrows to your pitch. You can go wherever you want. Annie the owner is really nice and helpful. There is a footpath straight to the waterfall too

My partner and I had a fantastic time here this weekend, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a slice of nature away from the busy crowds. It is a beautiful site built around a shared respect of the space. Everyone is spread out across the woods so it feels a lot more personal and we could comfortably have our music playing without bothering anyone. Toilets are basic as described but it is wild camping after all! Thank you Annie for being so accommodating. Would come again!
