About Annandale Arms Hotel

Annandale Arms Hotel suits travellers after a straightforward, comfortable base in Dumfries and Galloway rather than anything flashy - families, walkers, golfers and anyone touring the region on a reasonable budget. It sits on Moffat's High Street, with Drumlanrig Castle among the nearby points of interest, and cycling, walking, fishing, horse riding and golf all within reach for those wanting to fill their days outdoors.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and are kept clean and comfortable, with good quality bedding, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Some rooms can feel a little stuffy due to limited ventilation, so it's worth bearing in mind in warmer weather. The hotel also has a bridal suite and hosts weddings, alongside meeting rooms for those combining business with the trip.

The restaurant and bar are a genuine draw, with a Sunday carvery that guests return for, kids' meals for younger visitors, and breakfast included as part of the stay. There's a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days, a small on-site gym, and free WiFi throughout. Staff are noted for being friendly and professional, and parking is straightforward - useful for a hotel in the middle of town. Prices are generally considered fair for what's on offer.

A lovely dog friendly hotel, the room was a good size, clean and comfortable with nice fluffy towels, good quality bedding and hot drinks. The staff we came across were all approachable, efficient & professional. The housekeeping lady in particular was very cheerful & friendly. We had a ground floor room which was perfect because we had our dog with us. The central location and parking were fantastic. We only stayed for a night, on a Saturday, it was a quick visit and so unfortunately we didn't sample the food, but other guests we met really enjoyed it & the menu sounded great. We had drinks on arrival & and a night cap. There was a singer performing which we enjoyed. The bar had a good selection of drinks, they stocked a Moffat Distillery (TMD)spirit which we really enjoyed. It was great to see a local product on offer. I would not hesitate to recommend the Annandale Arms.

Although we didn’t stay at the hotel, we visited for their Sunday carvery and had a fantastic experience. The food was cooked perfectly, with a great selection of meats and beautifully prepared vegetables. Portions were generous, so we definitely left satisfied. The pricing was reasonable, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, it was well worth it — thank you for a wonderful meal.

Very poor, food was ok, could have been warmer. We commented when paying and the girl on the desk says, yes the stuff lies out on the counter, the later in the day U come the less warm it is. We were there at 1.30. They start serving at 12. So there're suggesting that if we went in at 3.30 we would be chipping the ice of the dinners. I've never heard such an excuse for cold food in my life. Will not hurry back. So disappointed. And check Ur bill at end. They tried to charge £7.95 for a can of soft drink.

Went for the carvery on Sunday for my wife's birthday, I had 3 slices of meat 3 roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. I was asked if I wanted peas and cauliflower with cheese sauce (I saud yes) Well I got about 20 peas and 1 head of cauliflower, is which i ate in 1 mouth full. There was a vary small selection of veg you can pick yourself 3 of them. I was very disappointed.
