Spey Bay draws visitors for its shingle beach, mountain views across the water, and the marine life that gathers in these waters—minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, seals and ospreys among them. The National Whale and Dolphin Centre sits here too. Shedend stands in the hamlet of Nether Dallachy, inland from the bay, close enough for a short drive or walk to reach the coast, yet set back where it remains quiet.
The cottage is single-storey throughout. Its open-plan living space has a woodburner, TV and DVD player; the kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, and French doors open onto a small enclosed garden with seating. Two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with two singles—and a shower room complete the interior. Electricity, bed linen, towels and the initial fuel for the woodburner are included. One dog stays free. Private parking for two cars is on site, and there is level access throughout, making the property suitable for those with mobility considerations.
The Speyside Way walking route passes nearby, running from Buckie to Aviemore. Fishing on the River Spey, the Whisky Trail, and the championship golf course at Spey Bay are all within reach. A pub and restaurant sit around a mile or so away. For quieter days, the woodburner and garden provide reason enough to stay put.
