What visitors say
This is a magical place for kids, it’s that simple. The quality of productions here is so high, they really are able to bring the bedtime stories you’ve read a hundred times to life. Even if one production doesn’t quite land for you, come back and the next show will amaze you and delight your kids. Bizarrely for a place visited by so many people renowned for being unable to hold for long there is only one male and one female toilet, so if there’s an adult in there taking their sweet time and your little one needs to go good luck. Also, when the cafe made a babyccino for our little one they served it boiling hot, which showed a lack of common sense. To end on a good note, there is also a wonderful free play area both inside and out to keep the little ones occupied before the show, so plan to come early. I visit Polka Theatre quite often. Overall the little girl I look after enjoys their free play area and often loves having her Babycino from their cafe. They have a lovely chalk play area within their cafe too. Some of the staff are not so welcoming and give faces when children are running around or making noise which I don’t think is fair as children will always make noise. Staff should be supervising the play area a little more as usually only staff will come to replace paper but that’s about it.

I went with 3 children of different ages to "We're going to a bear hunt". They were very excited and absorbed in the story. The theater offers a wonderful cafe and a playground for the waiting period, if you arrive too early. We will be back with pleasure.
