Laxdale Cottage

Northton beach is a two-minute drive away, and from Leverburgh pier—just minutes from the cottage—you can take the ferry to Uist or arrange trips to St Kilda. The Isle of Harris brewery sits near the pier and hosts occasional traditional music evenings alongside food. Within five minutes' drive is the community-owned shop, which stocks essentials and fuel for the wood burner.

Laxdale Cottage is a single-storey property sleeping two in one double bedroom. Everything opens off the main living area, which has a woodburner, comfortable seating, and a smart TV. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, with an electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer. A walk-in shower, separate toilet, and the essentials—bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi—are included. There is private parking for one car and a bike store on site. No smoking is permitted.

The cottage works well for couples wanting a base to explore Harris and Lewis's beaches, or for anyone interested in sea kayaking, swimming, or walking. The island has the space and light that come with ground-floor rooms, all accessible from the living room.
