Jayne Cottage

Jayne Cottage is a ground-floor studio built to take in views across the loch. A single bedroom with a kingsize bed, shower room, and open-plan living space with kitchen occupy the whole property. The kitchen has what you need to cook properly—gas hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave—while the living area has a window facing the water and a smart TV for quieter evenings. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided.

The cottage sits just over a mile from Tarbert, Harris's main town, where you'll find a distillery, two hotels with restaurants, a bank, surgery, post office, two shops and a petrol station. Ferries to Uig arrive here too. One car can park on site. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead—this is sheep country. Smoking is not permitted.

Harris offers some of the Western Isles' most dramatic coastlines and beaches, plus quiet roads for cycling and established walking routes across the island. This is the kind of place to arrive at the end of the day and watch the light change on the water.
