Uig Bay Cottage

Walk through the door of Uig Bay Cottage and you're immediately aware of the space and light. The ground-floor layout centres on a living room and kitchen with a wood burner, from which patio doors open onto decking overlooking the beach. A separate dining room faces the same direction. The single bedroom has an en-suite shower room; there's a second bathroom with a bath. Everything is finished in restrained, contemporary style throughout.

The cottage sits on the north coast of the Isle of Lewis, a short walk from Uig Sands. Built in 2017, it has oil central heating and electric cooking. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included, along with initial logs for the wood burner. You have private parking and a terrace with garden furniture. No smoking inside.

This part of Lewis offers serious landscape: moorland, sea cliffs and long empty beaches. Callanish Standing Stones are within reach, as are the Butt of Lewis lighthouse and the Blackhouse Village at Arnol. The Isle of Harris, with Luskentyre beach, is accessible by road.
