We stayed at Cherry Tree Campsite in Norton over the bank holiday weekend and had such a lovely stay. I’m still quite new to camping as a solo parent with my two-year-old son and dog, so finding somewhere that feels relaxed, friendly and family-friendly makes all the difference — and this place really was perfect for us. Before arriving, we headed to Yearsley Woods for a beautiful walk, which isn’t far away at all, and then checked out the local pub that you can walk to from the campsite. We’d seen online that they had a bouncy castle on for the bank holiday weekend, which was brilliant for my little boy! The food was really good quality and very reasonably priced too — we had fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed it. When we arrived at the campsite, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely pitch next to a beautiful cornfield and the views were just stunning — the sunset and sunrise were absolutely gorgeous. The campsite itself was peaceful and quiet, which made for such a relaxing stay. One thing that really stood out to me was how accommodating everyone was. My son still likes a warm bottle of milk before bed, and after getting back from the pub, I suddenly realised I had no way to warm it up and bedtime meltdown mode was approaching quickly! I felt a bit cheeky knocking at the house around 7pm, but the lovely lady there couldn’t have been more helpful and kindly let me borrow the microwave. She even joked, “We can’t have your little boy having a meltdown!” — such a kind gesture that genuinely meant a lot. The facilities were also really clean and tidy throughout our stay. Overall, we had such a wonderful experience and would absolutely return. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

A basic site with lovely views. Decent pitch size. My only niggle was the cleanliness of the bathroom facilities. Toilets were cleaned but the floors were not

Lovely and calm, reasonably priced we paid £25 for a night for two of us with an electric pitch for our campervan. We stupidly forgot a frying pan and the lady leant us one which was lovely! They have a washing up shed which is really helpful, this has sponges and fairy liquid in, they have toilets and showers which are modern and clean again reasonably priced with £1 for 15 mins of water. Overall a really calm, peaceful site within a nice distance to Helmsley which is a lovely little village and thirsk. Overall a lovely night.
