You arrive at Coach House Holidays - The Lodge to find a contemporary timber cabin set back from the road, with its own parking and enclosed garden. The entrance leads directly into a bright, open-plan space where the living area, kitchen and dining zone flow together, all on the ground floor. A woodburning stove sits at the heart of things; the kitchen has electric cooking and a coffee machine; there is a small dining area and lounge with a smart TV.

The single bedroom upstairs contains a double bed and an ensuite with a freestanding bath—the kind you can sink into for an hour—plus a shower cubicle downstairs for practicality. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. One dog is welcome, and there is a doggy shower in the shared external laundry room. The real draw is the private hot tub in the garden, which seats two and looks out onto woodland; there is also a terrace with furniture and a barbecue for cooking outside.

The cabin is part of a small complex near the edge of the New Forest, within reach of market towns and the coast. It suits couples seeking a quiet break away from it all, or anyone wanting to walk or cycle the forest trails without leaving comfort behind. Note that there are four steps leading to the garden, and this is a no-smoking property.
