About Dyfed Permaculture Farm Trust
Tucked into 20 acres of wildflower meadows, mixed pasture and mature woodland, this tiny permaculture farm near Newcastle Emlyn has been growing organic produce for over four decades. As a not-for-profit trust and registered charity, the focus here is on sustainability and peaceful, low-impact camping – expect basics like filtered spring water, compost loos and hot bucket showers rather than electric hook-ups, though those essentials are complemented by a lovely open-sided roundhouse with a turf roof beside the campfire area. Wheelbarrows of firewood are on hand if you fancy an evening blaze.
The setting is genuinely remote and wonderfully rich in wildlife: bats, badgers, buzzards, red kites, owls and over 60 moth species all call these fields home. You'll share the space with grazing sheep, cows and bees as you pick your own pitch on arrival. For supplies, there's a pop-up vegan and vegetarian restaurant less than a mile away in Penboyr, plus a village store, wholefood shop and chippy in Drefach Felindre, five minutes' drive. Newcastle Emlyn is five miles for bigger shops.
